This process begins by presenting a reduction in the ability to care for oneself. It is caused by characteristics like shrinking, weakness, poor endurance, slowness or low activity levels. In this work we present a proposal for frailty monitoring through the control of rehabilitation and daily activities. After the frailty index diagnosis, elderly people are continuously monitoring by using a mobile phone-accelerometer enabled. Only, carrying this device all day, it is possible to control daily activities, recommending rehabilitation exercises and checking whether there could be a risk according to the frailty index.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122076741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, the system helps users sleep deeper and wake up comfortably by neurofeedback networks. The neurofeedback networks basically consist of EEG and ECG sensors and tri-axis accelerometers with a System-on-Chip (SoC) design for real-time bio-signal analysis: Time-frequency domain analysis of heart rate variability (HRV). This sleep monitoring awaking system is implemented by a LED array panel and speaker which emits blue lights with specific wavelength which can suppress secretion of melatonin and make sounds in different needs and conditions, which will guide the users to fall into normal circadian rhythm and improve sleep quality.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124352981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has organized a collaboration of industry experts defining a truly interoperable architecture for CA/DRM systems for broadcast, broadband and “over the top (OTT)”. The architecture allows owners of consumer premises equipment (CPE), like set top boxes, personal video recorders or TV sets, to have embedded CA/DRM from any vendor. The required security kernel can be downloaded in a designated software container with standardized interfaces. The download process is protected by proven methods, and under control of a trusted third party. Open hardware facilities in the CPE with proven security further support enhanced security, ensuring the best possible protection of the content. The result is a highly consumer friendly interoperability solution, for the first time truly merging TV over Internet and broadcast, without any compromise regarding security.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116292707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ECG processor acquires three-channel ECG raw data through a front-end circuit, and measures the time between successive heart beats on lead II as RR intervals for heart rate variability (HRV) analysis. Functions such as R-peak detection, RR interval calculation, sliding memory window scheme, and time-frequency analysis of HRV have also been developed. A real-time HRV analysis processor is realized by employing a Lomb periodogram for time-frequency power spectral density (PSD) analysis of the heart rate. The Lomb time-frequency distribution (TFD) is suited for deriving the PSD of unevenly spaced data sets. The system has been implemented in hardware and verified on FPGA.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125069634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present a deblocking algorithm for the satellite images generated by KOrean Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT)-2. The KOMPSAT-2 images are compressed with the equal quantization step size for the rows in a given image according to region complexity. However, this approach has a problem that relatively less complicated regions within the same row cause more blocking artifacts. Removing these artifacts with a general deblocking algorithm can blur undesired and complex regions. Additionally, the general filter lacks in preserving the curved edges. Therefore, we present an adaptive filtering scheme for removing blocking artifacts while preserving the image details. It uses prior information given by quantization step size and content analysis. Particularly, directional low pass filter using principle components analysis (DLFPCA) is introduced to reduce staircase noise around the edges. Experimental results showed that the proposed method outperformed the existing approaches in terms of an objective quality metric and processing time.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122014971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The local region that contains the given color has to be segmented. Conventionally, the segmentation of the corresponding local region in a target image is based on the color distance. The region which is the closest in color distance is separated. However, since the close range of color distance separating a given color from target image is ambiguous and uncertain, color distortion is often generated around a separated local region. Therefore, this paper addresses the problem of segmentation in a local color transfer. To prevent color distortion, a modified color influence map is proposed with color categories. First, the target image is roughly segmented using a color category map, which groups similar colors in color space. It restricts the color transfer to a specific color category according to a given color. Second, modified color influence map assigning different weight to lightness and chroma, respectively, is used instead of Euclidian color distance. Then, by combining a modified color influence map and color category map filtered with anisotropic diffusion, a local region that contains a given color can be segmented more strictly than conventional method. Experimental results show that the proposed method has less color distortion in the resulting image.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122355567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a super resolution algorithm which can provide vivid output image with rich details and sharp edges. The main contribution of this paper is the development of a database-free texture synthesis technique. Based on the fractal property of nature images, it is possible to find proper high-resolution patches in low-resolution input image itself. The double interpolation framework for up-sampling and the reconstruction constraint for the final optimization combined with the texture synthesis form the whole super resolution algorithm.
