Therefore, the number of public wireless LAN services is also increasing. However the transmission area of a wireless LAN is not visible to the user. Therefore, it is difficult to control the administration of a wireless LAN. As a result, administrators need to take adequate management against information leakage, eavesdropping and unauthorized access. Administrators need to change the encryption key frequently. However, if the administrator changes the encryption key frequently, this is a burden for administrator and users. If the administrator uses VLC (visible light communication), it is easy to control connections, because VLC has a clear communication area. This is the difference with radios and IR (infrared rays), we can see the communication area of VLC, thus it is easy to control access. Only users in the light area receive the encryption key. The users out of the light cannot receive the encryption key. In this paper we propose a method that distributes encryption keys in a wireless LAN system using VLC. The innovation of this paper is to change the encryption key of a wireless LAN using VLC with no burden on the user. A prototype system is also evaluated. In this sytem, the VLC is also the lighting system. The brightness of the lighting must be constant. Therefore 2 PPM (pulse position modulation) is used. In the experiment, we use very bright LEDs, which are driven by USB bass power. The communication speed, energy bit per noise (Eb/N) and error rate were measured. The error rate is measured by the changing illumination of the LEDs. We also examine the relationship between the communication distance and angle. The reults show that system was useful for encryption key distribution, and we are able to communicate with a convenient and secure wireless LAN.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131508740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of a digital camera and microphone array which are connected to the TV set through the High-Definition Multimedia Interface. The system is extendable with a 3G modem to become capable of working in a stand-alone mode as a video phone for 3G network. The add-on provides: hands-free video communication, excellent sound quality via TV loudspeakers and simultaneous watch of the TV broadcast. While the communication with remote user is active, the existing sound from the TV broadcast is efficiently suppressed with the embedded audio processing engine. This is possible with microphone array usage and sophisticated voice processing algorithms in the background. This add-on aims to extend functionality of TV sets and improve user experience.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128089755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the open nature of wireless medium and the increase of wireless traffic make it difficult for network operator to guarantee user experience of provided services. In this paper, we focus on multimedia services especially wireless IPTV that needs to be guaranteed by network operator. In order to avoid global degradation and to ensure per-client quality, we propose to use a fair-scheduler implementable with Quiet Element available in the IEEE 802.11 standard. Unlike most of existing schemes, our proposition is applicable to both downlink and uplink streams and can be implemented easily in real access point products. Performance evaluation is conducted using NS-3 and real house propagation maps.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124733458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different standard methods (block and mesh based) of motion estimations have their own merits and demerits. Block based approach gives reasonably good performance in terms of accuracy with limited amount of bit rate but suffers from discontinuity of motion at block boundaries. On the other hand, mesh based approach can capture the motion of an moving object inside a video frame more accurately than block based approach with high computational complexity. If motion in the camera is present, then this technique calculates large number of nodes to represent the camera movement. Since, all nodes are required to transmit from encoder to decoder, the camera movement may cause a large bandwidth requirement for the mesh based motion estimation technique. In this paper, a new approach of motion estimation has been proposed, which can be applied for generating a mesh for moving object(s) inside a video frame and node dimension of the mesh is adaptively changes according to the motion vectors of the neighborhood. This will be very useful to estimate of motion of both object and camera movement with a very little error metric.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126946155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, effective skin color reproduction is essential, as skin color is a key memory color in color application systems. Previous studies suggested skin color reproduction by mapping only to the center value of preferred skin region. However, it is not suitable to determine one preference color because preference color from the observer's preference test is not dominant. In this paper, skin color reproduction using multiple preferred skin colors for each race is proposed. The proposed method first defines multiple preferred skin colors for each race according to their luminance level. The race is then selected by calculating distance between average chromaticity of detected region and that of each racial skin from a database to assign preferred skin color for each race. Next, each corresponding preferred skin color is determined for each selected race. Finally, input skin color is proportionally mapped toward preferred skin color according to the difference between the input skin color and the preferred skin color for a smoothly reproduced skin color.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131043196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, martial art techniques are often complex in detail and need to be perfectly adopted from the teacher. Distributed event detection systems for digital devices enhance the individual training, resulting in a higher precision of the technique repetition. Distributed event detection, as employed in Wireless Sensor Networks, enables cooperative evaluation and detection of spatialy or temporaly distributed events like fire or earthquakes. We evaluate the feasibility of integrating a distributed event detection approach into a wireless motion-based training device, to support fight stick training. We present an ubiquitous computing device for in-network event detection, which enables users to obtain direct feedback from the device itself. Multiple sensors help to improve the reliability of the device, while the wireless technology ensures flexibility in a multi-part device. After a brief introduction to distributed event detection, we evaluate event detection accuracy and how link quality effects different scenarios.","PeriodicalId":236486,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134418686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
