A review of English-language literature on physical literacy was conducted using three scientometric databases to assess the current research landscape and practical applications of physical literacy within the social domain. Factual information about the target population was gathered via a structured questionnaire. The empirical data were analysed using mathematical and statistical techniques, including descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. All statistical analyses were performed with SPSS Statistics software, version 19.0.0.

Results: Results: A review revealed a wide range of interpretations of physical literacyin contemporary scientific literature, and common standard characteristics were identified across various cultural and scientific perspectives. In social work, physical literacy is predominantly equated with engagement in physical activity. Consequently, its primary perceived benefit is physical and mental health improvement. The influence of physical literacy on cognitive and social dimensions of well-being is acknowledged to a lesser degree.

Conclusion: Conclusions: Social workers are generally prepared to integrate the concept of physical literacy into their professional practice or are already applying some aspects of it, often without explicitly recognizing them as such. Systemic changes are required to ensure the effective implementation of physical literacy in social work and to achieve a meaningful impact on all dimensions of health. These include improvements to the legislative framework-particularly a revision of workload standards for social work professionals-appropriate training for social workers, increased funding, enhanced material and technical resources, and the adoption of an individualized approach to working with clients.
","PeriodicalId":23643,"journal":{"name":"Wiadomosci lekarskie","volume":"79 1","pages":"114-122"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147317598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched for studies published between 2020 and 2024 reporting bond strength to enamel or dentin after aluminum oxide abrasion. Only peer-reviewed full-text articles with shear or microtensile outcomes were included. Twenty studies were analyzed, comprising in vitro experiments and systematic reviews.

Results: Results: For enamel, most studies confirmed improved retention after abrasion, particularly when combined with phosphoric acid etching. The effect was most evident for self-etch adhesives, which otherwise underperform on aprismatic enamel. For dentin, findings were more variable. Abrasion enhanced adhesion with etch-and-rinse protocols and universal adhesives in etch-and-rinse mode but often reduced bond strength with self-etch adhesives, likely due to smear-layer removal without adequate demineralization. Optimal parameters included 50 µm particles, 3-4 bar pressure, and ~5 seconds of application. Higher pressure or prolonged use risked collagen damage. In composite repair, abrasion consistently increased bond strength, especially when combined with silanization and an adhesive. Evidence on long-term durability was mixed; bioactive particles may improve stability and biocompatibility.

Conclusion: Conclusions: When applied with optimized parameters, aluminum oxide abrasion improves bonding to enamel and dentin, is particularly useful in etch-and-rinse protocols and composite repair, and should be avoided on dentin with self-etch adhesives. Further in vivo studies are needed to clarify long-term performance.
","PeriodicalId":23643,"journal":{"name":"Wiadomosci lekarskie","volume":"79 1","pages":"210-214"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147318130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cartilage damage may be a consequence of acute trauma, repeated mechanical overload or age-related degenerative processes which often leads to chronic pain, joint dysfunction and a deterioration in the quality of life of patients.Established treatments such as; conservative management, intra-articular drug administrations and surgical cartilage repair typically provide relief. However, it's important to note that these treatments rarely lead to complete, permanent regeneration of natural hyaline cartilage. Recently, regenerative medicine has been paying significant attention to stem cell therapies. It aims to support cartilage repair while simultaneously impacting the intra-articular environment. It's safe to say that these approaches are increasingly being considered as potential therapeutic methods. Between the various cell populations, mesenchymal cells have gained particular attention due to their ability to promote chondrogenic differentiation, immunomodulatory properties, and paracrine effects.There is growing evidence suggesting that stem cells effects can be mediated not only by direct source replacement but are also contributed by the secretion of bioactive factors that influence physical processes, cartilage metabolism, and endogenous repair mechanisms. This narrative review aims to concisely summarize and critically evaluate novel evidence and scientific data on the biological repair mechanisms, clinical outcomes and safety assessment of stem cell-based therapies used to treat articular cartilage repair.
","PeriodicalId":23643,"journal":{"name":"Wiadomosci lekarskie","volume":"79 3","pages":"553-557"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147654947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
