A combination of three switching configurations of the PIN diodes provides a current path modification, and consequently a variation on the operating frequencies. Simulated results are presented based on two approaches, the ideal case using a metal portion and the schematic case employing the equivalent circuit of the PIN diode. The proposed antenna is suitable for 5 GHz U-NII band. Results are obtained by using CST-MW simulator.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132551102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ATM is a research field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) that aims to decrease traffic congestion based on autonomous vehicles cooperation and capacities. However, a literature review reveals that many issues related to ATM and autonomous vehicles are up for discussion, and so are the key research challenges lying ahead. We first present the ATM aims and scope to provide a basis for discussing related open research problems. This paper enumerates and discusses six key research topics and research problems within those issues.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128953917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Greedy Curvemetric-based Routing Protocol for VANETs","authors":"Tawfiq Nebbou, M. Moreover, as nodes in VANETs have very high mobility and limited transmission range between nodes which leads to communication breakdown, so there are lots of challenges to route the packets to their final destination. Recently, geographic routing protocols called also position-based routing protocols, which are mostly based on greedy routing, are more suited to highly dynamic and mobile networks. However, this kind of protocols faces greater challenge in city environment due to the radio obstacles such as buildings, trees and other obstacles, which reduce signal quality and decrease the packet successful reception. This paper, provides a detailed description of various existing position-based routing protocols and proposes a novel routing protocol by using the curvemetric distance instead of Euclidean distance to choose next hop, called Greedy Curvemetric Routing Protocol (GCRP). Finally, we evaluated the performance of our proposed routing scheme via simulations in city environment and comopare it with GPSR protocol.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114960569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today the manufacturing process has evolved in several fields, computer, military, medicine to give more comfort to the individual and therefore the happiness of the individual. To keep up with this evolution several applications have been developed in all domains. However, the host-centric model of the Internet poses several problems in terms of security, reliability, or even mobility support. Today, the majorities of applications are interested in content and no longer need to know its location. Therefore, a change of communication model is recommended towards a model that is more interested in the data rather than the location of the host and Named Data Networking has been suggested. NDN is a novel information-centric networking architecture; it focuses on data and doesn't care where this data is stored. Hence it intends to overcome the weakness in the traditional TCP/IP. In this paper, we present a new classification of NDN applications and make a comparison between the traditional IP stack and NDN. We also highlight different functionalities offered by NDN such as naming, caching, mobility and security, then we present by reviewing the current literature, the features that pushed researchers to adopt this paradigm in their applications.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126414154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopting this new networking architecture implies a change in the way today applications are developed. NDN brings a transition from a host centric communication to an information centric communication, where data are the masterpiece. As Internet of Things (IoT) is a source of tremendous quantity of data shared and processed on the network, a new approach is needed to enable a smooth and optimized data sharing among the IoT devices. This paper introduces an approach of a network optimized, content oriented, and fully distributed file system that enables IoT devices and processing hosts to share both the raw data and the generated results.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121680743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the process of network densification goes forward, it is paramount to lower to a minimum the additional energy consumption required by the deployment of more and more network sites. Fortunately, the deployment of Heterogeneous Networks opens new possibilities for the integration of simpler and highly effective Sleep technologies. In this paper, we evaluate and quantify the energy savings attainable by the latest Power Modulation and Sleep modes in a Heterogeneous LTE Network deployed to serve a traffic-intensive urban office area. Power consumption figures are based on those of real cells currently available on the market. Results indicate that the combination of Power Modulation and Sleep techniques is able to cut in half the energy required by the modeled Heterogeneous Network and that Sleep modes, in particular, can be the most beneficial.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130229960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The choice of implanting the FBRLS algorithm using MDF adaptive filter, allows one to choose the size of an FFT consecrated to use efficiently the hardware, rather than the requirement of a specific application. In term of performances, the MDF-FBRLS adaptive filter introduces smaller block delay and is usually faster, ideal for a time-varying system, such as modeling an acoustic path in a teleconference room. These good performances are achieved by using smaller block size, updating frequently the weight vectors. Those issues, will reduce the total execution time of the adaptive process. The comparison between MDF-FBRLS and FBRLS algorithms, proved the advantages of the first one, in term of the total execution time, and the efficiency of the computational complexity of the adaptive filter.","PeriodicalId":236142,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Selected Topics in Mobile and Wireless Networking (MoWNeT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117235682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
