For adequately responding to the causes of this situation and its aftermath, a detailed understanding of the gendered impacts of the pandemic and of subsequent developments is necessary. This aim may be supported by particularly using gender-sensitive modes of inquiry. Against this backdrop, we explore the methodological potential of grounded theory (GT) to explicitly guide gender-sensitive research. Given its methodological variations, we argue that an adequate handling of gender in GT can only be determined in relation to a researcher's positioning within the GT landscape. Thus, to assist readers in translating their gender sensitivity into GT practices, this article outlines various interpretations of GT elements, discussing their relation to gender. Furthermore, strategies addressing gender-related challenges are presented and underlined by, among others, studies on discrimination and violence.</p>","PeriodicalId":23606,"journal":{"name":"Violence Against Women","volume":" ","pages":"2071-2098"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2025-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141761241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study sampled 72 women who were selected using the snowball technique. Information was gathered using structured interviews and statistical analysis. Violence experienced in early age is associated with traumatic events after the age of 18, which may influence the persistence of homelessness. It is essential to establish gender-informed public policies from childhood to mitigate revictimization and prevent social exclusion.</p>","PeriodicalId":23606,"journal":{"name":"Violence Against Women","volume":" ","pages":"10778012251347593"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2025-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144302970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to identify IPSV-related training needs among shelter workers. A comprehensive qualitative analysis was conducted with 179 shelter advocates through focus groups and a World Café. The analysis revealed four overarching needs: (a) enhancing ease; (b) clarifying the scope and limitations of interventions; (c) developing skills to respond effectively; and (d) guiding survivors through medico-legal and legal procedures. We analyzed six waves of data from the 1989-1995 birth cohort of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health (<i>N</i> = 11,224 women), estimating multinomial logistic regression and fixed-effects logistic regression models. Our measure of multidimensional poverty captured women's deprivations in material, education, employment, health, and social/relationship domains. Women exposed to violence in childhood were more likely to be in multidimensional poverty across young adulthood, and more likely to be revictimized at the hands of intimate partners. This study explores how myths about sex trafficking are propagated in Israeli media and how newspapers construct this concept. A thematic analysis was conducted on 90 articles from the past decade. The findings reveal two themes: (a) forms of sex trafficking and (b) characteristics of key figures.
