The present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between information sources and resilience on the severity of general anxiety in people living in Tehran during the covid-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Tehran in 1400. Samples were adults over 18 years old. The data was collected via Interment. The link of electronic questionnaires was shared through social media such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram. We asked the participant to answer the questionnaires through the link provided. We collected data on demographic information, and sources of the information. In addition, the General Anxiety Disorders (GAD-7) and the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) Questionnaires were administered. Descriptive analysis and logistic regression were performed to analyze the data using the SPSS software version 23. Results: In all 400 adults were participated in the study. The mean age of the participants was 32.17± 12.42 years. The findings showed that, 23.8% of the respondent used social media for information about Covid-19, and 21.0% used news agencies or web sites. The mean GAD score was 6.16±3.76 indicating that 139 participants (34.8%) had minimum anxiety, 199 (49.8%) had mild anxiety, 48 (12%) had moderate anxiety and 14 (3.5%) had severe anxiety. Also, the mean BRS score was 3.14±0.63 indicating that 138 (34.5%) had low resilience, 248 (62.0%) had normal resilience, and 14 (3.5%) had high resilience. Logistic regression analysis showed that a significant association exists between decreased anxiety and higher resilience (P < 0.0001), and increased anxiety with more social media use (P = 0.005). Conclusion: The source of information and resilience affected anxiety during the covid-19 pandemic. People who spent more time on social media during the corona epidemic experienced higher anxiety. The findings also confirmed that more resilience is effective in reducing the severity of anxiety. © 2022, Iranian Institute for Health Sciences Research. Compliance with health protocols is the main key to preventing the transmission of this disease. The purpose of the present study was to review the related research to investigate the factors affecting compliance with health protocols related to Covid-19. Methods: This scoping review examined studies published in Persian and English language biomedical journals with related keywords including health protocols, masking, quarantine, distancing, hand washing, and risk perception in search engines such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Web of Science, and SID. Results: In all 22 relevant articles were entered into the review. The results led to the identification of more than 30 effective factors in compliance with health protocols. Factors such as gender, understanding the risk of disease, government measures, the role of friends and family, the media, and people's information sources played the biggest role in people's compliance with the protocols, respectively. Also, protective measures such as staying at home when feeling unwell, covering coughs and sneezes, and not using public transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic had reported having the highest compliance rate and the lowest was behaviors such as washing hands after sneezing and coughing as well as disinfecting the mobile phone. Conclusion: To increase compliance with protocols, it is necessary to consider individual and environmental factors affecting compliance with protocols, which can be categorized as facilitators, barriers, and encouragers of target health behaviors as these factors are context and time-dependent. Timely identification of accurate factors in any country is a key step in formulating and designing interventions to manage pandemics such as Covid- 19. © Iranian Institute for Health Sciences Research. The present study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the sexual excitation and inhibition questionnaire in the Iranian men. Methods: This was a cross sectional study. A sample of 200 married male teachers from Tehran who were selected through the convenience sampling method participated in the study and completed the Sexual Inhibition/Sexual Excitation Scales (SIS/SES) and the Hurlbert Index of Sexual Assertiveness. Forward-backward translation procedure was applied to provide the Iranian version of the SIS/SES. The correlation coefficient, the goodness of fit indices, First and second-order confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability were used for data analysis. Results: The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed the 6-dimensional model of sexual excitation and inhibition questionnaire (Inhibitory Cognitions, important relations, Pair elements, Arousability, Partner’s characteristics, and Relationship location) showing acceptable fit to the data. The root mean square error of approximation was estimated to be 0.064 and the comparative fit index was estimated to be 0.916. Cronbach's alpha of the whole scale was 0.894 and the subscales were 0.832, 0.805, 0.731, 0.780, 0.812, and 0.766, respectively. Also, the intraclass correlation coefficient was higher than 0.8 lending support to the stability of the questionnaire. Convergent and divergent validity was satisfactory. Conclusion: The results showed that the Persian version of the Sexual Inhibition/Sexual Excitation Scales (SIS/SES) is an appropriate instrument for use in Iran, and experts can use this questionnaire in counseling and therapy centers to detect high-risk sexual behaviors and poor sexual performance of men. © 2022, Iranian Institute for Health Sciences Research. Therefore, this study investigated the prescription and the cost of tests for patients admitted to two hospitals of Kashan University of Medical Sciences in the Covid 19 pandemic. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study on a sample of patients with Covid-19 that admitted to two hospitals of Kashan University of Medical Sciences (a teaching hospital and a general hospital). We collected the data on prescription and laboratory tests and analyzed the data using the statistical tests. Results: The results showed that 42 types of tests were prescribed in the first and third peaks of the Covid 19 pandemic in the two hospitals. Cr, BUN, K, Na tests were the most prescribed tests, and Troponin and CRP were the most expensive tests. There were no significant differences in prescribing and cost of tests in the general hospital, but in the teaching hospital there were significant differences in prescribing and cost of tests in the first and third peaks (P= 0.003). Conclusion: Due to unknown nature of Covid 19 disease and the high incidence of the disease at the beginning of the pandemic, a definite decision for laboratory tests was not possible. However, the findings indicate that many of tests were requested for most patients at regular intervals, while it was more desirable that these were prescribed on a case-by-case basis. © 2022, Iranian Institute for Health Sciences Research.
