The analysis covers both, the circumstances that led companies to conclude this agreement and its anticipated effects in face of implementation of the Chinese government’s strategy aimed at modernizing the agri-food industry of the country. An important background for the analyzes are created by the basic trends currently observed in the Chinese agri-food sector. The basic method adopted in the article is the case study analysis, which allows for a thorough diagnosis of the subject of the study, taking into account specific factors affecting the various stages of the merging process between the analyzed companies. The documents on the assumptions and directions of the implementation of the Chinese government’s strategy in the agri-food sector, as well as reports presenting trends in the development of Chinese agribusiness and the role of new technologies in shaping this development have also been used.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129053823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conclusions made in the article are based on the results of the survey carried out among Ekaterinburg (the Sverdlovsk Region, Russia) citizens (N 485) by means of the standardized interviewing of migrants from Central Asia (N 231) in 2017; on the data of quality interviews with Ekaterinburg citizens (N 33) and with migrants of foreign ethnicities (N 19). In the article, the authors analyze the cultural barriers related to the stereotypes of perception, language differences, ethnical culture, different values, civilizational peculiarities of countries sending and receiving migrants. All of them are important for the success of migrant entrepreneurship under the conditions of a Russian big city. The authors prove that alongside with economic, political and legal barriers, such factors as the insufficient knowledge of the Russian language demonstrated by migrants, different cultural norms and values for migrants and local citizens, including the confessional difference, have a significant impact on the willingness and possibility of migrants to develop business in Russia.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123973707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of this objective requires not only defining the concept of sustainable growth, but above all providing appropriate measures. One of the reliable economic indicators is the labor productivity index used in the article, which reflects the relation between GDP and wages in whole economy. The economic goal of the governments should be the systematic increase of this indicator. The index allows to calculate labor productivity for the whole country, as well as for individual regions or industries. This index, due to its dimensionless value, ensures full comparability in time and space between the obtained results. The policy of increase labor productivity in the country, can be decomposed into individual sectors what allows monitoring of the productivity of each of them. This will allow to determine how particular sector contributes to whole country performance and take corrective action if adverse changes occur. The research covered the countries of the Visegrad Group. The industry division follows the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community NACE rev. 2.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123526748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 1952, Harry Markowitz had proposed standard portfolio optimization which is cornerstone of portfolio optimization. Mainly, in the Portfolio optimization problem main goal is minimizing the risk, while maximizing the expected return of portfolio. Since portfolio optimization problem is an NP-hard problem, hard computing techniques does not meet today’s conditions. Due to time constraints and the necessity of economic situations, many heuristic methods were used to solve portfolio optimization method such as particle swarm optimization, ant colony optimization etc. In this study, Markowitz’s mean-variance portfolio optimization with cardinality constraint is tried to solve which is not only quadratic optimization problem but also it is a binary integer programming problem. In order to solve mixed-integer quadratic optimization problem, we suggested nonlinear neural network based on coefficient of variation for solving cardinality constraint portfolio optimization (CCPO) problem. While analyzing the proposed algorithm efficiency, ISE-30 data (İstanbul Stock Exchange 30) was used between 10.06.2015-14.05.2017. Finally, the obtained results from the proposed algorithm are compared with the results obtained from the classic portfolio selection models in the literature.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128069901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors of this article explore characteristics of the human capital of senior workers, identify and systematise various factors of the external and internal environment that actualise specific characteristics, as well as the processes of formation, preservation, development and evaluation of this type of capital. To study the human capital of senior workers, a sociological approach is used to clarify the application of the concept of social action in various institutions, including the economic sphere. A systematic approach is also applied, where the human capital is viewed as an open and dynamic structure influenced by various factors of the external and internal environment. The authors clarify the theoretical conclusions and hypotheses by the results of a sociological study (with focus groups) and analysis of statistical data. They propose recommendations on the need for consistent work to destroy the negative stereotypes and to form new ideas about the characteristics of human capital in the whole society and the professional environment of employers.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132808290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While maintaining the cross-border communication function, the western coastal regions accumulate tacit knowledge for performing innovation development and secure their innovation potential. The study traces the processes associated with innovation diffusion in the coastal regions of Western Russia via both analysis of regional statistics and the qualitative data acquired from expert surveys. The empirical data cover the cases on the Rostov agglomeration – the largest coastal center of the South-West Russia, and the Kaliningrad – the North-West exclave region, which is highly integrated into the European space. It is shown that the education and science centers of the coastal regions become the leading accumulators of innovations in the conditions of the lack of external technological development resource. The innovation diffusion in the regional production system demonstrates various trends depending on the support of regional authorities, the volume of internal demand for technologies and innovation products, the interdependence and technological exchange between civil and military sectors, etc. The findings are to be implemented in regional management and decision-making.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117096661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The crisis during 2008-2014 is compared with selected past financial crises, in particular those happening during 1990s. Among issues discussed are roots of financial crises, global imbalances and instruments and provisions aimed to prevent or weaken future crises. The paper shows how changes in global economy may generate financial crises and also change continuously their features and attributes. This study is focused on the Czech economy where the empirical data show a significant delay in the beginning of the recent financial crisis. We find that indicators differing the Czech economy from other Central European economies concerned the real estate market and construction market. The Czech real estate market was not hit by the burst in the first moment and the construction sector index kept growing during all 2009. On the other hand, the Czech economy suffered a double bottom crisis, which struggled the country for almost seven years.","PeriodicalId":235267,"journal":{"name":"International Days of Statistics and Economics 2019","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129050853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
