Dichas actividades, deben ser productivas en función del rol que desempeñan dentro de su contexto con el fin de fortalecer su bienestar. Así, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue describir la frecuencia y satisfacción de las Actividades Instrumentales de la Vida Diaria, con su percepción de Calidad de Vida (CV). Con un diseño no experimental participó una muestra no probabilística intencional de 16 adultos mayores voluntarios residentes en el Estado de Hidalgo, quienes después de firmar un consentimiento informado contestaron Cuestionario de Calidad de Vida de la Organización Mundial de la Salud versión adultos mayores (WHOQOL-OLD, por sus siglas en inglés) y una encuesta vía entrevista sobre su participación en diferentes actividades instrumentales productivas. Los resultados arrojaron que la percepción de CV no está del todo determinada por la frecuencia o satisfacción con la que realizan dichas actividades. Se concluye que, en los adultos mayores es importante tanto la frecuencia como la satisfacción con las actividades instrumentales, ya que, si bien la participación en actividades productivas puede tener incidencia, también es necesario tomar en cuenta el valor o satisfacción que experimentan con la realización de las mismas ya que, ésta influye en su percepción de bienestar","PeriodicalId":235136,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Basic and Applied Psychology Research","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117249743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that a large part of the studies were carried out in Anglo-Saxon populations that tended to compare \"heteronormative\" with \"non-heteronormative\" populations, through eminently quantitative designs, where the main results were greater vulnerability in comparison to the heterosexual population, internalized homophobia and rejection of one's own sexual orientation. Social and family vulnerability that fed the experience of diverse violence in different areas of their lives. In addition, alcohol and drugs were predictors of suicidal ideation. These living conditions favored mood disturbances and affected mental health, as well as a tendency to develop self-injurious behaviors. However, family and social support were protective against suicidal ideation. Few authors used the recognized categories within the LGBT community to describe their participants, the category most commonly used was \"non-heteronormative population\", tending to reproduce heterosexist models. Most of the papers on experiences and meanings did not give their participants a voice.","PeriodicalId":235136,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Basic and Applied Psychology Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130777079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, several studies have developed treatment proposals, an objective that is shared within this case study. The work carried out is a proposal for an intervention based on the Cognitive Behavioral Theory to a 21-year-old female patient, who manifests symptoms of depression and anxiety. The patient was evaluated with the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Hamilton Anxiety Scale, Manifest Anxiety Scale in Adults-C, Hamilton Evaluation Scale for Depression, and the Beck-II Depression Inventory. To expand the data, resources such as the Clinical Map of Pathogenesis and the Map of Scope of Goals were used for the functional analysis of the behavior for the formulation of the case. On the other hand, based on the collection of data from the patient and the results obtained, it was determined that the proposal of the most effective strategies for the case was the following: 1. psychoeducation, 2. cognitive restructuring technique, 3. training in breathing techniques, 4. relaxation technique training, 5. sleep hygiene training, and 6. mindfulness technique.","PeriodicalId":235136,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Basic and Applied Psychology Research","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123090755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This review includes since early great pioneers of measurement at the beginning of nineteen century to the principal contributions of psychometrics in the middle of twenty century. The researcher’ knowledge on the Science History in general and the analysis of theories and methodological antecedents of their discipline are very important to an integral scientific’ formation. The problems and challenges of science are showed an interdisciplinary approach that permits the comprehension of scientific concepts and methods, to improve and reorganized each discipline with a broad and new perspective. The roots of Psychometry included pioneers and contributors in Mathematical, Statistical, and Experimental Sciences, who’s had persisted with creativity in the development of theories, methods, models, technics and procedures to construct psychological measurements in social and behavioral sciences. Since the Rasch’ Model and the Item Response Theory, among others advances in multivariate statistics, the modern Psychometry have theories, models, applied strategies and methods to document validity and reliability evidence. Psychometrics today, counts with standards to guide best practices in test development and validation in behavioral sciences.","PeriodicalId":235136,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Basic and Applied Psychology Research","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127503626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
