This kind of security architectures aims at enabling information system interoperability. Existing architectures, however, do not consider interoperability of heterogeneous federation architectures, which rely on different federation protocols. In this paper, we try to initiate an in-depth reflection on this issue, through the comparison of two main federation architecture specifications: SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) and WS-Federation. We firstly propose an overall outline of identity federation. We furthermore address the issue of interoperability for federation architectures using a different federation protocol. Afterwards, we compare SAML and WS-Federation. Eventually, we define the ways of convergence, and therefore, of interoperability.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130031987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Medical images present many challenges for automated segmentation including poor contrast at tissue boundaries. Traditional segmentation methods based solely on information from the image do not work well in such cases. Statistical shape information for objects in medical images are easy to obtain. In this paper, we propose a graph cuts-based segmentation method for medical images that incorporates statistical shape priors to increase robustness. Our proposed method is able to deal with complex shapes and shape variations while taking advantage of the globally efficient optimization by graph cuts. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method on kidney images without strong boundaries.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130287486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These typing characteristics are believed to be unique among large populations. In this paper, we present a novel keystroke dynamic recognition system by using a fusion method. Firstly,we record the dwell time and the flight time as the feature data. We then calculate their mean and standard deviation values and stored. The test feature data will be transformed into the scores via Gaussian probability density function. On the other hand, we also propose a new technique, known as Direction Similarity Measure (DSM) to measure the differential of sign among each coupled characters in a phrase. Lastly, a weighted sum rule is applied by fusing the Gaussian scores and the DSM to enhance the final result. The best result of equal error rate 6.36% is obtained by using our home-made dataset.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126622005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such, solutions both efficacious and cost-effective need to be sought. Our previous study suggests that mutual assisted living community, where dwellers make contributions to the community. Thus community resources could be fully utilized and requested services would be provided in a prompt way. We used service oriented architecture (SOA) to orchestrate the available resources inside the community; and we organize the services into different forms such as formal ones (carried out by professionals, etc), informal ones (assisted by relatives, volunteers, .etc) and even as group activities. We expect such a community could help not only efficiently utilizing the social resources in maintaining the independent living of the elderly people, but also helping these people maintain their connections to the society and bring them entertainment, so that the quality of their living standard may be improved at the same time. This paper continues the track of the previous studies on building mutual assistance communities. Service matching algorithms are developed providing flexible choices on both requested services content and the organization forms of the services.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116782756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, the system is able to project a real scene on two half images. Thus, contrary to classical stereo system, it deals with the problem of the camera synchronisation. On the other hand, the optical axis of the system can be steered to point a region of interest of the real scene. It has been developed in the context of on-road vehicle applications and more specifically for long-range road surveillance. This degree of liberty is useful when the region of interest is far away in the front of the vehicle because it requires a long focal length to reach a sufficient resolution. This optical system is associated to a dense stereo matching algorithm and a disparity map segmentation process. We present some results we have obtained using synthetic stereo images to illustrate the functionality of this setup.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123070641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas these processing require very high speed and computational power, hardware implementation is a good choice for achieving high performance. In this paper a new low capacity and parallel architecture based on a special memory management and arithmetic unit is proposed for real-time spatial image processing. The architecture is implemented on FPGA at a 50 MHz clock frequency and a processing time of 5 ms for 3 times 3 generic window-based operations on 512 times 512 gray-scale images. It has been applied in many domains, such as military, environment observation, calamity forecasting, geo-spatial explore. A sensor Web refers to web accessible sensor networks and archived sensor data that can be discovered and accessed using standard protocols and application program interfaces (APIs). The sensor Web achieves the cooperation, series, harmony and consistency of data acquisition, abstraction and distribution. It is web-centric, open, interoperable, smart, and dynamical and is a new fashion of sensor deployment, data acquisition and information abstraction. In this paper, a framework of spatial sensor Web is designed. This framework includes SOS, SPS and some other services and integrates geographic information systems (GIS) which has the abilities of spatial locating and spatial analysis. The framework follows the sensor Web specifications defined by OGC and can accommodate and receive all kinds of sensor services and data. It enables the interoperability between different sensors, sensor systems and users and \"plug-and-play\" web-based sensor systems. A prototype of spatial sensor Web has been developed which integrates a sensor network of weather station to sensor web and GIS.","PeriodicalId":234433,"journal":{"name":"2007 Third International IEEE Conference on Signal-Image Technologies and Internet-Based System","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133736340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
