It is used to find out the important defects, flaws, or errors in the application code. In this paper we have developed a tool to generate different test cases automatically. To show the validity of the tool, we have considered the line equation problem and generated different test cases, and finally we conclude that Robustness Technique is better than Boundary Value Analysis, because the expected output (number of times) in case of Robustness Technique for intersecting lines, parallel lines and coincident lines are 12, 12 and 1 respectively while in case of Boundary Value Analysis it is 8, 8 and 1 respectively.","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134302278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper highlights one of the major issues that elders in UAE are currently suffering from, the immobility, due to health issues and discusses the ways to monitor their health using mobile devices such as Caalyx. This device is a patient monitoring device that can measure vital signs, detect falls and alert the signs about emergences to the nearest healthcare. This paper proposes to use this wearable device called Caalyx which can be used to monitor the vital signs of the people who use them. Few similar monitoring devices have been compared. Justification has been made to propose the use of such a device after conducting a survey among elderly and their relatives in the UAE to find whether they would accept a device like Caalyx for monitoring purposes.","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121136352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cellular service providers are already in the last phase of the deployment of third-generation (3G) services in major parts of the world realistically with an achievement of higher data rates, even though the expected standards are not fully met. To achieve the goals of true broadband service, the systems have to make the leap to fourth-generation (4G) wireless networks. This new generation of wireless systems is supposed to complement and replace 3G systems with a minimum data rate of 20 Mbps at one-tenth the cost of 3G. Wireless community including Researchers, Software vendors, device manufactures already expressed their interest in 4G that support global roaming across multiple mobile networks with personalized services like time sensitive real time multimedia services - with stable system performance and Quality of Service (QoS).","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131385076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is the current common problem facing most small to medium sized organizations. Cloud computing has been a breakthrough recently helping in the emergence of new resources, management, and services sharing between users and providers. Still a common problem is taking the decision either to stay on-premise or adopt the cloud new techniques. The work proposed in this paper concentrates on surveying and studying the cloud among different professionals' perspectives and researches to be able to determine the most important and common aspects that affect the decision of cloud adoption. Both the controllers are two inputs, two outputs controllers. The controllers take input from two ultrasonic sensors, perform fuzzy algorithm and generate speed commands for left and right motors. The controllers are designed using fuzzy logic toolbox of MATLAB® and implemented in real time using a low cost, readily available AT89C52 microcontroller. Experimental results have revealed the validity of both the controllers for hurdle avoidance task. Finally, the controllers are compared in terms of smoothness of robot motion generated by the controllers and the memory utilized for their implementation in real time.","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"469 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123269998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main crux of agile software development is to break the development tasks into small increments, which entails minimal planning & documentation and focuses on delivery of the increment rather than the entire software. This thus minimizes the project risk and allows the project to adapt to changes quickly. The Department of Information Technology at Manipal University Dubai had applied the principles of agility to develop the Department Portal through the efforts of its graduating students under supervision of the IT Project Cell. This paper brings out the experiences of this case study and the lessons learnt in this unique experiment. The findings published in this paper may be of particular interest to other Universities or Organizations which are evaluating the options of making changes to their traditional software development methodology to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in their software development processes. Other researchers may use the results of this case study to effectually relate their research observations or conclusions.","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127806312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes a range of strategies and practices used in an organization to identify, create, represent, distribute, and enable adoption of insights and experiences. An effective knowledge management is empowered by cutting-edge technology, robust management principles, cooperative personnel and strong work ethos. There is a discernible drive in several organizations to achieve all together and to be leading among the competitors. In this paper, we discuss Knowledge Management initiatives in a few public sector organizations in Dubai. The five organizations that are considered belong to diverse and key services, viz., Public utility (DEWA), Transportation (RTA), Legal (DC), Law and order (DP) and Human resources and planning (KHDA). We present the enablers, strengths, weaknesses and challenges of their attempts and also some of the evaluation mechanisms adopted in those organizations. We finally conclude our paper with our observations and insights on the principles and strategies adopted for transformation to a knowledge society in the organizations taken up for discussion.","PeriodicalId":233698,"journal":{"name":"The 2011 International Conference and Workshop on Current Trends in Information Technology (CTIT 11)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129513844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
