Landmann","doi":"10.5604/17318157.1216082","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5604/17318157.1216082","url":null,"abstract":"The paper represents an attempt to analyse the reasons and consequences of the radical refocusing of the Polish state’s system in the interwar period. The thesis was advanced that in the interwar period in Poland two fundamentally different models of polity and governance of the state were created, which had a material bearing on the state’s general domestic situation, including also the security and stability of the polity. The presented arguments suggest that in the years 1918-1939 the model of the Polish polity evolved from the strengthening of the executive authority, during the initial formation of the independent state entity, through the representative parliamentary democracy, and up to the presidential polity, in which the president clearly dominated over the legislative and judicial authorities. Such momentous changes introduced over a relatively short period of time could be the evidence of destabilisation of the political scene and could also indicate that the bases of the democratic polity of the state were not firmly established in the interwar period.","PeriodicalId":233227,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Science of the Gen. The idea of a communication medium resistant to a nuclear attack, which was developed in the late sixties of the twentieth century in the form of the ARPANET, affects strategic, operational and tactical dimensions of the modern battlefield. It is also an important element shaping the processes related to ensuring the security of the state, both in the internal dimension as well as in dealings with other actors of international relations. Multi-layeredness and the growing complexity of cyber space cause that cyber security policy has been placed not only in the context of critical infrastructure, but also all the aspects of ethical and legal issues are taken into account. The armed forces have become an integral part of the information society, and as such, have been increasingly influenced by the civil sphere. The militarization of cyber space results directly from increasing saturation of the state structure with ICT technologies and the growing importance of these components in the process of ensuring security. The wide access to ICT generates a new threat to the defense system, including the armed forces. The ability of the digital impact on the military sphere, evidenced by many non-state actors, is today the main reason for implementing regulations restricting the activity of citizens in the global network.","PeriodicalId":233227,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Science of the Gen. That is the question the answer to which leaves no illusions. The Syrian Revolution began, because the society motivated by disturbances in other Arab countries wanted to break free from the dictatorship of Bashar alAssad. It was to give an opportunity to the young generation of the Syrians for a better life, and to change this beautiful and inhabited by hospitable and friendly people country into the ‘oasis’ of peace and prosperity. Today it is already clear that the Syrian ‘dream of democracy’ has not been fulfilled and the society was unable to establish a new order. The revolution in this state turned out to be other than those, which took place in almost all the Arab States and some Muslim ones. It was even different from the Libyan uprising that changed into the civil war. This rush turned into a blood slaughter a civil war on the scale hitherto unprecedented, and its implications drive to the reflection on the future of this state. The specificity of tasks, which are carried out during crisis management, imposes the risk of functioning under pressure. Crisis response teams can counteract or foster the development of a crisis situation if the tasks are delayed or performed incorrectly. The aim of the article is to examine stress coping strategies and the sense of coherence in army, police, and fire brigade adepts. The level of the sense of coherence was assessed using the SOC-29 questionnaire (Antonovsky, 1995), whereas stress coping strategies were measured using the CISS questionnaire (Endler & Parker, 1990). The results revealed no significant differences between the representatives of the three formations in their sense of coherence or stress coping strategies. Statistical differences between the groups were noted for the following subscales: avoidance strategy, engagement in substitutionary tasks, and searching for social contact. There were no significant correlations between the total and subscale scores of the measures.","PeriodicalId":233227,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Science of the Gen.
