We present a new algorithm supporting both sketching design and interaction with pencil and eraser just like designers naturally do on the paper. This interaction technique belongs to the most pervasive computing technology. The algorithm adopts a new data structure, which integrates data structure for image and graph. The graph modification and recognition is based on image along with dynamic information of strokes or context. Since the data width and shift length vary with different algorithms, there had not a general shift unit supporting all shift operations. In this paper, a high-performance and dynamic reconfigurable shift unit is presented, which provides support for all 4/8/28/32/128-bit data width shift operation. The flow engine of the system is capable of manipulating the business data when routing the flows based on metadata, and the system can access each other by interpreting opponent's metadata and context. The system provides visual metadata definition tools that help users to define specific application. That makes the system suitable to be used in various domains. The proposed algorithm starts with a five-point diamond search's block matching, and decides the direction from the center check point to the least block distortion point to be the search direction. Next we continuously extend one check point and detect its block distortion until the next one check point's block distortion is larger than the current check point's. Then the current check point is declared to be the center check point, and repeat the operations. Finally we end the search when the center check point has least block distortion. A number of stakeholders have an interest in the features on any learning environment. Amongst these stakeholders, are the institutional managers, the teaching staff and the students. Institutional managers are primarily concerned with the economic use of the institution's resources. Teaching staff are concerned with the effective and efficient delivery of teaching material. Students are concerned with maximising the effectiveness of their learning opportunities. This paper discusses an application of pervasive computing which seeks to meet the requirements of all three sets of stakeholders. To this end it proposes a framework which takes into account a number of important issues: the range of user devices and I/O mechanisms found in a typical academic environment; a range of diverse location determination mechanisms and their relative accuracies; the communication channels that might be available in such environments which may be employed to communicate between ad-hoc components in the system and between the system and users; scheduling systems deployed within the environment.
