From the relationship between these two variables, it is possible to make projections of situations of scarcity water resources in watersheds. The objective of this work was to evaluate the occurrence of temporal trends of precipitation and flow between 1995 and 2011 in the upper Aracuai River Basin-MG, as well as to analyze the relationship between the flow and precipitation regimes. e relationship between monthly flow and rainfall was characterized using a linear model. Time trend tests (Mann-Kendall) were applied to the time series of precipitation (P) and flow (Q). e results showed a strong correlation (r = 0.8) between monthly flow and precipitation, both showing a tendency to decrease over the period evaluated. The interannual variability and trend analysis of the Q/P coeﬃcient indicate that the intensity of flow reduction is greater than that of precipitation, indicating that land use and occupation may also be aﬀecting the reduction in flow in the region. It employed data obtained from a face-face questionnaire interview from farming households. e data were collected between July and September, 2019 cropping season. e questionnaire contained data on socio-economic/ demographic and decision making on rice production; sales and finance within the households. Multi-stage sampling procedure was used in the selection of respondents from the study area. e data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-test and Tobit regression model. Empirical results revealed that female farmers are disadvantaged in the access to economic resources. ere is a statistically significant diﬀerence in decision making among female and male farmers. It was found out that male farmers solely make most decisions on rice production and revenue while the female farmers tend to have more control on marketing of produce. Age of the farmer, non-farm activity participation, land ownership and access to credit significantly increased female farmers’ decision making power. Access to economic resources especially credit facilities, land and information were the major constraints female farmers face in developing their capabilities as farmers. e study suggests that market intervention will advance women’s position and performance in agricultural sector. One of the cities that exemplifies this issue is Rio do Sul in Santa Catarina. The city recorded the first major flood in 1911 and, since then, there have been several episodes of the disaster, with 15 occurrences recorded between the years 2010 and 2020. Therefore, this research aimed to assess the perception of area residents of risk, about the adversities that urban floods affect in the physical-spatial scope - both in housing and in the neighborhood, as well as discussing possible damages to people's well-being, evidenced from the interviewees' reports. The data were obtained through a Post-Occupancy Assessment (APO), conducted from interviews with questions on the scale of the neighborhood and housing, as well as from the collection of data from the built environment in loco. The results showed, in addition to the negative feelings brought by disasters of this nature, the sense of belonging and community among residents.
