Not only mobile devices are Android powered, as matter of fact also in automotive and robotics fields, customized Android versions are currently employed. While Android offers several pro, from the stable kernel to the no usage of royalties, there are also cons, one of the most serious is related to the security of the operating systems. In particular, the official market has shown that is not able to block promptly the publication of malicious software. In this paper we discuss a model checking based approach to detect malware related to Android environment. In the evaluation we focus on the DroidDream threat, a malware able to evade the security mechanism provided by the Android official market, obtaining encouraging results.","PeriodicalId":229414,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace)","volume":"9 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115895303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an additional measurement system that can be used jointly with the conventional PRM approach to monitor aircrafts position on land without using the radar approach or requiring visual inspection of the lanes. We propose a system made of ground-based distributed optical fiber sensors (OFSs), to be placed below the concrete floor of the take-off and landing lanes as well as along the different roads and intersections within the airport. OFSs will be read by a phase-sensitive OTDR (Φ-OTDR) driven by low-noise narrow-linewidth 1.55 mm laser. The laser field is used to inject the optical fiber with a pulsed signal and to read the phase shifts arising from vibrations and pressure waves produced by aircrafts moving, or even still with engines turned on, along the lanes. An absolute localization of different planes, with a few meters resolution and accuracy across the whole airport, would be possible after installing OFSs and adjustment of the detection system. The proposed ground monitoring system, in addition to the ones currently available, offers information redundancy at a promising low-cost and a backup aircraft-positioning tool in case of failure or malfunctioning of the existing video-or radio-based systems. Furthermore, the proposed system is inherently immune to e.m. interference and also to intentional disturbance or intrusion. Design of the laser source and of the Φ-OTDR measurement system is underway with the aim of precise and continuous monitoring of the on-land position and movement of different aircrafts or vehicles within the airport.","PeriodicalId":229414,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117169599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tracking problem is considered as it is generalization of stabilization and regulation problems. Joint coordinates state space is used to simplify mathematical calculations. Electric drives are chosen as joint actuators and their equations are involved into model of the plant. External disturbances and their first and second time derivatives are supposed to be of a certain class and it is the only used limitation. Feedback control law is chosen in the class of discontinuous functions. It is also presumed to be static feedback law as one of the simplest techniques. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is illustrated by numerical experiments.","PeriodicalId":229414,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace)","volume":"251 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114124420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a performance analysis of the US-NDT is proposed with the aim to obtain a suitable combination of such solutions that allow the best defect detection capability. The analysis was experimentally performed on two aluminum bars with two different cracks: the former generated by a fatigue process and the latter caused by a corrosive process. The results obtained with reference to different types of excitation signal and various methods of analyzing the acquired data are detailed.","PeriodicalId":229414,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace)","volume":"168 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123157635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such concept is the Earth's geoid. We present our definition of the relativistic geoid in terms of the level sets of a time-independent redshift potential. Such a potential exists for any congruence of Killing observers, i.e. for any rigidly moving object associated with a stationary spacetime in the outer region. The level surfaces of the redshift potential foliate the three dimensional space into isochronometric surfaces, which can be determined with the help of standard clocks. Two such clocks on the same surface will show zero redshift when their frequencies are compared. One of these level surfaces, singled out by a suitable convention, defines the relativistic geoid in our framework. At the same time, the redshift potential is also an acceleration potential for the congruence of observers. Hence, the isochrono-metric surfaces are orthogonal to the acceleration of freely falling objects, i.e. they are orthogonal to the local plumb line. Therefore, two independent kinds of measurements can contribute to the determination of the relativistic geoid. It can be shown that clocks, which are connected by optical fiber links, can be used to determine the redshift potential; this gives the operational foundation of our framework. Moreover, we show that our definition reduces to the well-known Newtonian and post-Newtonian notions in the respective limits. To illustrate our framework, we consider analytic examples of spacetimes, for which we calculate the level surfaces of the redshift potential and illustrate their intrinsic geometry by an embedding into flat Euclidean space. We emphasize that our definition of the geoid in terms of relativistic concepts is valid for arbitrarily strong gravitational fields. We do not use any approximation in the sense of weak fields or post-Newtonian expansion schemes. Hence, the definition can also be applied to very compact objects such as neutron stars.","PeriodicalId":229414,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123813087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
