The performances of seven methods are compared in terms of utility, privacy and computational cost. We find that left multiplication based random projection methods are useless in data privacy protection. Even though there is no application-free solution in data privacy protection, the nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) based method has an appealing privacy performance under the promise of a reasonable utility and computational cost. While the random projection method with a right multiplication of an orthogonal random matrix does well in support vector machine classification, its computational disadvantages may make it less attractive for an online analysis and processing application.","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128798830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aimed at these issues, this paper proposes a slave station solution based on SOPC technology. To make I/O device as an example, a MECHATROLINK-III bus slave station is designed using SOPC, NIOS soft core and FPGA technologies. Data link layer peripherals, I/O module and CPU are customized and implemented in this slave station. The operation mode of this slave station can be changed by software method instead of hardware. The interrupting module is constructed using IP component technology to enable the interrupt handler. Finally the slave station driver of MECHATROLINK-III bus is transplanted to this I/O device to achieve Master/Slave communication based on MECHATROLINK-III protocol. The experiment results show that the proposed solution can enhance reusability and flexibility of the slave station.","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126933248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering that multiple phases with transitions from phase to phase are important characteristics of many batch processes, it is desirable to develop stage-based models. However, some stage-based monitoring methods may occur false alarm and missing alarm at the beginning and end of each stage, because the hard-partition and misclassification problems. To overcome the above matters flexibly, a novel multiple PCA batch monitoring approach using fuzzy clustering soft-transition is proposed. It reduces the false alarm and missing alarm for batch process in on-line monitoring due to batch variation. The proposed method is applied to detect and identify faults in the well-known simulation benchmark of fed-batch penicillin production. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method, which detects various faults more promptly with desirable reliability.","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123238295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method was formulated using a combination of the rotated five-point finite difference approximation on the (sqrt(2))h grid stencil together with the five-point centred difference approximation on the h and 2h grid stencils. This new group method was shown to have a better convergence rate than the previous group methods from the same family. In this paper, we formulate the MEDG group scheme in combination with the Accelerated Over Relaxation (AOR) method. Numerical experimentations of this new modified AOR group method will show significant improvement in computational complexity and execution timings compared to the group AOR formulation presented in [1].","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126537831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is difficult, however, to apply current numerical models to formation pressures analysis during water injections due to the models' complexity. Furthermore, actual formation conditions are quite different from the generic analytical models that assume homogeneous and circular boundaries. Therefore, this paper takes the anisotropy of formation into account for the first time and establishes a mathematical model for unsteady flow when water injection well is located at any position of a rectangular formation. This paper also considers the well as line source instead of point source, and this research adopts an orthogonal transformation method to deduce the exact solution of the model. It is of great significance to easily and exactly analyze formation pressure behaviour during water injection. Calculation program is compiled to analyze the key factors affecting formation pressure during water injection. Results show that: initial injection bottom hole pressure is proportional to time on semi-log scales, and the pressure increases rapidly, but the increase slows down later on in time, the model correctly reflects the propagation mechanism of pressure-wave, which can be applied to analyze the pressure behaviour of reservoirs during water injection.","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125921484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the algorithm, the number of cluster is dynamic, ACO algorithm is modified by particle swarm optimization (PSO), both the external function and internal function are used to measure the quality evaluation for clustering. The optimal partition is fulfilled by improved PS-ACO algorithm. With its application in recognizing oil-bearing reservoir, the result of simulation indicates that Jaccard index, the external function, is maximum and the internal function, the sum of variance between the object and the center in a cluster is minimum when the cluster number is four. Thus the algorithm has the preferable capability in forecasting and verifying aspects in recognizing oil-bearing reservoir.","PeriodicalId":227848,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences","volume":"60 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122475015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
