And also, they utilized two inertia modeling in order to deal with coupled system accurately. The overall control system consists of two parts-a servo controller and an observer. The state observer is designed with the Kalman filter algorithm to estimate the unknown states optimally. It is well known that the Kalman filter is an effective way to estimate the state of a dynamic system with a random noisy environment. A measurement error may occur due to a low resolution encoder in observer design. There are a number of disturbances in servo control systems due the observer which can estimate the disturbances using an inverse matrix of system dynamic equations to unexpected loads, parameter changes and other reasons. Simulation results are carried out to show that the proposed algorithm is able to estimate the speed and position stable and accurately. Also, the performance of the proposed algorithm is shown to be better than the average speed algorithm by some simulation results.","PeriodicalId":227402,"journal":{"name":"ISIE '99. A newly developed PWM technique for this kind of inverter is applied. As a result the switching losses as well as the current distortions are reduced. A smaller fluctuation of the neutral point voltage was also obtained. The proposed method was applied to a 20 kW motor using an NPC converter and inverter. With the sliding mode control algorithm, it is possible to guarantee the predetermined output within the prescribed accuracy based on the integral sliding surface especially for removing the reaching phase and the disturbance observer for efficient compensation. In regulation, the desired transient and steady state output is prescribed by means of the sliding dynamics, and the real output with the prescribed accuracy is controlled by the continuous input based on the sliding mode control with the disturbance observer, which are investigated through the two theorems together with the closed loop stability of the algorithm. The usefulness of the algorithm has been demonstrated by simulations about regulation controls of a two-link robot under parameter and payload uncertainties.","PeriodicalId":227402,"journal":{"name":"ISIE '99. The control scheme consists of two portions including the design of an approximating continuous control law and the determination of a special switching hyperplane. A special switching hyperplane is determined by employing the Bellman-Gronwall theorem, so that the system outputs are initially on the sliding hyperplane and sliding motion has a desired stable response. Furthermore, by means of the Lyapunov stability theorem, the authors derive an approximating continuous control law, which can not only guarantee the existence of the sliding mode but also avoid the chattering phenomenon. Then, the design procedure does not include solving the Lyapunov equation or Riccati equation. After a review of this theory, its relationship with the classical AC power definitions is described. In order to understand the presented concepts, two different computer simulations are shown. First, a three-phase balanced circuit is analyzed which contains no harmonics. Second, a three-phase power rectifier is studied with this theory. Fundamental and harmonic power concepts are commented upon in detail. The obtained results are used to understand AC power in electronic equipment for instrumentation and diagnosis purposes of three-phase systems. A single-phase power factor correction circuit to improve the power quality in the rectifier and a three-level PWM inverter to reduce the harmonic contents of the inverter output voltages are presented. In the rectifier side, the hysteresis current control (HCC) technique for a bridge diode with two power switches is adopted. A control scheme is presented that the line current is driven to follow the reference sinusoidal current which is derived from the DC link voltage regulator, DC capacitor voltage balance compensator and the output power estimator. A three-level PWM technique for a three-phase voltage source inverter is used to reduce the voltage harmonics. The major advantage for using such strategy is that the blocking voltage of each power device is clamping to half of the DC link voltage. The high power factor at the input of the rectifier and the low total harmonic distortion at the output of the inverter are verified by software simulations.","PeriodicalId":227402,"journal":{"name":"ISIE '99. Three different methods are elaborated. These are the artificial neural network based gain scheduling, gain scheduling by means of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system, and gain scheduling using a self-constructing Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy rule-based system. All the three methods are applied to gain scheduling of a PI speed controller in a DC motor drive. A comparative analysis of the drive performance with PI speed controller without gain scheduling and with PI speed controller with gain scheduling, using the three described gain schedulers, is performed. Good quality of performance is achieved over a wide range of operating conditions with all the three methods of gain scheduling.","PeriodicalId":227402,"journal":{"name":"ISIE '99. An arrangement of its texture pattern becomes an important factor for designing the yukata. It is desirable to draw the cutting pattern so that the yukata is set up for the wearer. Because drawing the cutting pattern requires great skill, it causes difficulties for beginners.
