The food industry is one of these industries which plays an important role in the economy of any country. As Iraq is one of the developing countries and tries to catch up with the developed countries, Iraq needs to increase its interest in this type of industry. One of the important parts of the developing policy for any branch of the industry is automation. This paper focuses on automating a food production process by designing an automated system based on the technologies of the programmable logic controller (PLC) to solve two problems; the first problem is to control precisely the amount of dough that is filled in a product molds on a conveyor belt which spins in a specific speed. The second problem is to monitor any deviation in the speed of the conveyor belt that moves the product and gives a warning signal to the operator in the event of any deviation. The design of the simulation model mainly adopted the technology of the controller type (PLC LOGO! V7.0) as it contains high specifications as compared with conventional control methods and it has rapid responses to signals coming from the sensors tethered on the parts of the production line such as ultrasonic distance sensor and inductive sensors.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131381430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The suggested auto-reclosure system has been incorporated with distance measuring relay (DMR) to detect and diagnose fault occurrence. The proposed fault classification method, including fuzzy logic, router circuits, logic gates and timers, is able to precisely identify fault type depend on the angular difference of a positive and negative sequence analyzer value and coordination. The blocking signals of fuzzy fault classifier is used adaptively to recognize unclassified tripping signals of the conventional protection relay and correspond a trained signals to single phase auto-reclosure. The designed ASPAR with FL method has been modeled and tested with the double circuit overhead transmission line using MATLABSIMULINK. The simulation results describe FL performance and feasibly to discriminate among different types of faults and to provide a tripping and reclosing pulses for the appropriate poles of the multi-shot single pole circuit breaker with successful mechanism at transient faults and lockout case in permanent fault as well.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114321366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A number of robots have been designed to safeguard human life and wealth. This paper focuses on design and implementation of mobile robot with three subsystems: The obstacle avoidance, face recognition and detection leakage of combustible gases. In the first subsystem, an implementation of artificial neural network on field programmable analog array has been used to control the motion of the robot. A combination of principle component analysis and linear discriminate analysis feature extraction algorithms with support vector machine classifier is used in the second schema. The third subsystem uses MQ4 sensor with addition circuit to detect the leakage of combustible gases. Finally, the MATLAB environment is used to implement the proposed subsystems and the experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of these subsystems.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122773299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conventional harmonic current injection method the optimum harmonic current reduction is obtained when (root mean square) (rms) value of the injection third harmonic current equals the DC load current. Therefore the power diode peak current is increased by 72 % compared to without injection case. In this paper a modified harmonic current injection is applied using a three-bidirectional switches connected to the input lines of the rectifier. The switch that is connected to line with zero current will be turned on to inject the harmonic current to it . In this method optimum harmonic reduction is obtained when the injection third harmonic current equal , one third of the DC load current. Therefore the power diode peak current is increased by 23.5% only and total harmonic distortion (THD) of the input current is less than 5% is obtained.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129813075","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of coordination with such networks was investigated together with coordinator load. The investigation has been achieved via the use of different scenarios in the OPNET Modeler simulator. The simulation study investigates the use of coordination with star routing, mesh routing and tree routing to check the suitability of the topology with the coordination. The simulation has been carried out for 1 hour to investigate the effect of routing topologies on the delay, coordinator load, and the throughput have been collected. The results show that the delay for mesh routing is lower than tree and star routing whereas the throughput for tree routing was higher than that of star and mesh routing. The results also show that the load per coordinator and end to end delay for star routing was higher than tree and mesh routing.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"10 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132835873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm, which is based on the standard AES, increases the complexity of the encryption process leading to a more difficultness against attacking and decryption of the plaintext without using the correct encryption key. The research investigates the AES algorithm with regard to Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and the Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL). ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition Software for Quartus II is used for simulation and optimization of the structural VHDL code. All the required transformations of the encryption and decryption processes are done using a pipelined cyclic design method to minimize hardware consumptions. The pipelined design is implemented on Altera Cyclone IV family of FPGA devices and a good throughput is achieved with minimal area.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115150243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper simulates some of these protocols for multimedia applications. Various scenarios for studying the effect of network scalability were conducted. Furthermore the performance of theses protocols with fixed or moving nodes was also studied. OLSR, TORA, and GRP were the favorite protocols in terms of WLAN delay leaving AODV and DSR as the worst in this statistic. The results of this paper suggest the use of AODV routing protocol in large client mesh wireless network for the video streaming application in which high throughput is required and WLAN delay is tolerated; while OLSR, TORA, and GRP are the preferred protocols for VoIP applications.","PeriodicalId":226378,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Electrical Communication, Computer, Power, and Control Engineering (ICECCPCE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122398927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
