It is accepted that these dynamics are not triggered by a biological process, but also that biochemical, electrical and mechanical stimuli are key factors in maintaining the continuity of bone tissue. In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the effects of low-level laser (DEL) and T. cubensis extract (TCE) applications on the expression intensities of Osteocalcin (OC) and Osteonectin (ON), which are markers of bone healing and mineralization, based on the hypothesis that they can support bone repair. A total of 54 6-8-month-old male rabbits (2.5-3 kg) obtained from Dicle University Experimental Animal Unit were used in the study. The rabbits were divided into 3 main treatment groups, 18 in each group after the operation. After the operation, DEL and TCE were applied to the area where the bone defect was created. An immunohistochemically method was applied to determine the localizations and expressions of OC and ON in the defect area in the sections obtained from the defected bone tissue in rabbits. It was determined that OC and ON expressions varied in parallel with secondary bone formation in cortical and cancellous bones. OC expression was found to be higher in DEL and TCE groups than control group. It was noticed that ON expressions were relatively weak and similar on days 7, 21 and 28 in the control group, whereas in DEL and TCE groups, ON expression was relatively weak on the 7th and 21st days and ON expression was high on the 28th day. In conclusion, it has been shown that low level laser and T. Cubensis application increase OC and ON expressions during bone healing in the rabbit bone defect model and gradual increase in OC and ON expressions according to the application days may have important potentials in supporting early bone healing.","PeriodicalId":226066,"journal":{"name":"Dicle Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130964060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although largely hereditary in nature, many environmental factors may play a role in triggering ASD in prone populations. Propionic acid (PPA) administration can induce serious changes including abnormal neural cell organization and subsequent autism-like neurobehavior. Since lycopene and its metabolites can be controlled in the brain, it is thought that lycopene may have neuroprotective effects on the central nervous system and may cause modulation on major brain biomarkers. In this study, 35 three-week-old Sprague Dawley male rats allocated to 5 groups: i) Control. ii) PPA; (500 mg/kg/ip). iii) PPA+LI (5 mg/kg/day intragastric lycopene given group in addition to PPA), iv) PPA+LII; (In addition to PPA, 10 mg/kg/day intragastric lycopene group), v) PPA + LIII, (20 mg/kg/day intragastric lycopene given group in addition to PPA). At the end of the study, animals were decapitated, and their brain tissues were removed and homogenized. The inflammatory cytokines interleukins 6 and 10 (IL6/IL10), basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF-2), and nerve growth factor (NGF) were obtained in the brain using SDS-PAGE and western blot techniques. Change of the expression levels was detected. According to the results, it was shown that after 35 days of administration, lycopene decreased the IL-6 and IL-10 levels due to PPA, especially in PPA + LIII and PPA + LII groups, in rats with ASD model by PPA. However, FGF-2 and NGF levels were significantly increased in all three lycopene groups compared to the PPA group (P<0.0001). In conclusion, lycopene may reduce PPA induced ASD-like neuropathological disorders by regulation of the brain inflammatory cytokines and the growth","PeriodicalId":226066,"journal":{"name":"Dicle Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125675573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was conducted in Prof. Dr. Hümeyra Özgen Research and Application Farm of Selcuk University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In the present study, the efficacy of toltrazuril (COC-CİDE %2.5 Oral solution) was evaluated in 500 slow-growing Hubbard Isa Red-JA broiler chickens which were naturally infected with Eimeria tenella (Syn. E. avium, E.bracheti, Coccidium tenellum, C. globosum) and raised at Free Range Production System. With this purpose, a total 180 fecal samples were collected from the wild birds brought to rehabilitation center of Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Şanlı urfa Directorate of Nature Protection National Parks between the dates January 2018 – May 2019. A total of 16 (8.9%) Salmonella spp. isolations that are serotyped were made. At the end of bacterial culture studies, 13 samples (81,25%) and 3 samples (18.75%) were identified as Salmonella Typhimurium and Salmonella Enteriditis , respectively. These isolations were made from 8 different wild bird species but, no isolation could be made from the samples collected from the other seven wild bird species. As conclusion, S. Typhimurium and S. Enteriditis serotypes which are commonly responsible for human and animal salmonellosis were isolated from the faeces of the sick and wounded wild birds brought to the rehabilitation centers. For this reason, it was concluded that the wild birds carry the risk the transmission of Salmonellosis agents to the domestic birds, mammals and human and to take necessary sanitary measures might help for animal and public health in this","PeriodicalId":226066,"journal":{"name":"Dicle Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125034561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
