Serbest Dolaşımlı Üretim Sisteminde Yetiştirilen Hubbard Isa Red-JA Broyler Tavuklardaki Sekal Koksidiyozun Tedavisinde Toltrazuril’in (Coc-Cide®) Etkinliğinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Eimeria tenella (E. tenella) (Apicomplexa), a coccidian protozoan species belonging to Eimeria genus, poses a significant threat to broiler chickens in many parts of Turkey, and causes hemorrhagic caecal coccidiosis resulting in animal deaths and decrease in productivity. The study was conducted in Prof. Dr. Hümeyra Özgen Research and Application Farm of Selcuk University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In the present study, the efficacy of toltrazuril (COC-CİDE %2.5 Oral solution) was evaluated in 500 slow-growing Hubbard Isa Red-JA broiler chickens which were naturally infected with Eimeria tenella (Syn. E. avium, E.bracheti, Coccidium tenellum, C. globosum) and raised at Free Range Production System. In conclusion, toltrazuril apperas to be effective on the treatment of caecal coccidiosis in Hubbard Isa RedJA broiler chickens.
