In the proposed method, an image is considered as a sum of the three frequency bands: low-band, middle-band and high-band. We assume that the noise component is often mixed into the middle-band and the high-band in order to better preserve the high-frequency details in the image we perform denoising on these two bands. The method is based on a sparse representation model in which a set of standard images is used to construct the example dictionaries. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed denoising method can preserve well the high-frequency details. The objective and subjective comparisons also show that the proposed our method outperforms other state-of-the-art denoising methods.","PeriodicalId":225413,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124445758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given this system setting, we study the effect of multiple primary transmitters (PU-Txs) and multiple primary user receivers (PU-Rxs) on the outage probability of the considered CCRN. Specifically, power allocation policies for the secondary user transmitter (SU-Tx) and the secondary relay (SR) are formulated, subject to the outage constraint which is imposed by the PU-Rxs as well as the peak transmit power limits given at the SU-Tx and SR. On the basis of these power allocation policies for the SU-Tx and SR, an expression for the outage probability of the CCRN is derived. Numerical examples are presented to show the effect of different system parameters on the outage probability of the CCRN.","PeriodicalId":225413,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116431344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we consider energy efficient handovers between macro and femto base stations with transmit power control. The handovers are made considering the constraints in the available radio resources at the femto base stations which play an important role in limiting the energy efficiency performance gain of such systems. The handover algorithm is presented and was simulated for a single macro-cell scenario with multiple femto-cells and under shadow fading conditions. Our results show some considerable improvement in the total energy efficiency of the access network and a slight variation in the distribution of excess energy when different user spatial-density models are considered.","PeriodicalId":225413,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130134117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A sophisticated decoder is widely known to yield a substantial performance improvement by exploiting impulse statistics; however, impulse statistics are difficult to model accurately and are generally not time invariant, likely leading the receiver complexity to be prohibitive. Based on our previous work - which proved the robustness of a soft limiter despite a lack of impulse statistics, this study incorporated a clipping operation into a single-carrier turbo-coded system in memoryless impulse noise channels. Further, the performance of the proposed decoder was evaluated according to the bit error rate to demonstrate the performance gain derived from various clipping thresholds, each of which reflects a different degree of impulse information to which the proposed decoder can leverage.","PeriodicalId":225413,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115103265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Success of distributed video coding is based on exploiting the source statistics at the decoder with availability of some side information. The better the quality of side information, the higher the performance of the distributed video coding system. In this paper, a novel side information creation method is proposed by using different block sizes based on the residual information at the encoder. A small number of mobile sensors are deployed randomly in an area to observe a large number of positions. At each sampling time, the sensors collect data at their random positions and exchange their readings to the others through their neighbors within the sensor transmission range to form one CS measurement at each sensor. After M rounds of moving, sensing and sharing data, each mobile sensor has M CS measurements to be able to reconstruct all readings from all positions that need to be observed. Network performance is analyzed considering the number of sensors deployed in the networks, the convergence time and the sensor transmission range. Due to antennas put inside human body, electromagnetic simulations are needed to model human body and clarify electrical characteristics of antennas. Electromagnetic performances of NMHA can be conveniently calculated by using Method of Moment (MoM). However, accuracies of calculated results were not clear. In this paper, another simulation method of finite element method (FEM) is employed as a reference. Calculated results such as self-resonant structures, electromagnetic field distributions, input impedances and radiation pattern are compared between MoM and FEM. Through very good agreements between two simulation methods, calculation accuracies of MoM are ensured.","PeriodicalId":225413,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125957582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
