Methanolic extract of plant leaves was used to perform analgesic and anti inflammatory activity. Analgesic study was performed by hot plate and tail flick method and anti-inflammatory effect analyzed by carrageenan induced paw edema. The methanol extract produced significant dose-dependent inhibition of carrageenan-induced rat paw edema. The extract also showed marked analgesic activity. In both the model of analgesic activity methanolic extract of Caryota urens at doses of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/ kg significantly increase reaction time in rats when compared with control. The dose 400 mg/kg of Caryota urens was highly significant which is comparable with standard in both the studies.Phytochemical investigation of Caryota urens extracts shows presence of phytosterols, tepenoids, flavonoids , tannins and Phenolic compounds which has been responsible for analgesic and anti inflammatory activity. It has been selected as candidate for the formulation of sustained release dosage forms. In the present work losartan potassium loaded chitosan nanoparticles were prepared by ionic gelation of chitosan with tripolyphosphate anions. Nanoparticles of different core: coat ratio were formulated and evaluated for drug content, loading efficiency, particles size, zeta potential, In vitro drug release and stability studies. Scanning Electron Microscopy indicated that the nanoparticles were found to be in nanometer range and showed ideal surface morphology. Differ ential scanning calorimetry analysis indicated that there were no chemical interactions between drug and polymer and stability of drug. In vitro release behavior from all the drug loaded batches were found to follow zero order and provided sustained release over a period of 24 hours. No appreciable difference was observed in the extent of degradation of product during 60 days in which nanoparticles were stored at various temperatures. The developed formulation overcomes and could possibility be advantageous in terms of sustained release dosage forms of losartan potassium.","PeriodicalId":225304,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmacy Research & Technology","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121547127","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since centuries man has made an effective use of material from natural origins in the medical & pharmaceutical field. In present study, Moringa oleifera Lam., was explored as a pharmaceutical excipient. Various physico-chemical properties like particle size, solubility, swelling ratio, flow property and compressibility were measured and compared with other materials also. Aceclofenac tablets containing Moringa were prepared and evaluated for various quality control parameters like hardness, friability, wetting time and disintegration time. Drug releases from Aceclofenac tablets were performed. Finally, stability study of optimized batch was carried out. It was observed that Moringa gum had excellent swelling ratio, flow property and compressibility. Batch F3 was considered as optimized batch due to lesser disintegration time, hardness & friability are within the limit. Tablets are stable after stability study.","PeriodicalId":225304,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmacy Research & Technology","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124603848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mobile phase used in this study is a mixture of Acetonitrile: OPA - Ortho phosphoric acid \u0000buffer (50:50v/v). Stationary phase was Discovery AltimaC18 (150mm x 4.6 mm, 5μm) reverse phase column at 30oC \u0000ambient temperature.
