The formal description is provided in terms of an XML Schema, thus the content description files have XML format. The schema was designed to provide highly detailed description possibilities for the movie scene. The scheme description, which is implemented in full compatibility with the MPEG-7 standard, provides fast and simple integration capabilities for database applications, and supports video/image indexing and retrieval for further use. It has been already tested that the proposed schema can be conceptualized in ontology services, which have other input besides video analysis.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132043581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The simulator must reproduce the behavior of the radio propagation channel, thus making it possible to test \"on table\" the mobile radio equipments. The advantages are: low cost, short test duration, possibility to ensure the same test conditions in order to compare the performance of various equipments. Two digital architectures are proposed and analyzed depending on the different environment characteristics.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116289251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using arrays of nonlinear oscillators coupled in a unidirectional manner, signals having the same frequency but different phases and amplitudes are generated. The synchronization is guaranteed by using stabilizing dynamical controllers. The analysis covers only the part related to the optical sensor a Cook Tyler triplet, the optical part of the CCD (charge coupled devices) image sensor and color processing. We consider the image acquisition to be a LSI (linear shift invariant system) and axial, and the light propagation is orthogonal to system. The simulation results address the image acquisition and the processing part of a digital camera pipeline. The analysis can be useful to assist engineers in image quality evaluation and imaging system design.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125759717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce chip area, LVDS transmitter's switching devices are replaced with lateral bipolar devices. Also the proposed LVDS transmitter is operated at 1.8 V power supply. Its maximum data rate is 2.8 Gb/s approximately. In addition, an ESD protection circuit is designed for ESD protection. This structure has low latch-up phenomenon by using turn on/off character of N-channel MOSFET and low triggering voltage by turning P-channel MOSFET in the SCR structure. The triggering voltage is simulated to 4.5 V-8 V as the variation of gate length. Finally, the high speed I/O interface circuit with the low triggered ESD protection device is designed in a single-chip.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129396620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IEEE 802.11 has become the de facto standard for wireless LAN. This paper focuses on the throughput versus distance analysis of multicast transmissions in an 802.11g network. Using an accurate simulation model for the MAC and PHY layer, we show that the default transmit mode is not an efficient choice under certain circumstances. UDP transmissions with data payloads close to the maximum transmit unit and transmissions carrying small amounts of data are investigated under different transmission modes and channel models. Simulations have shown that there are several alternatives to Mode 1, which is the default mode for multicast transmissions, when the receivers are not far from the transmitting station.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129855000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to design a computer aided diagnosis tool, the first step is to digitize the film images. A simple way of doing this is to take pictures of the X-ray film with a digital camera. We propose a method for the enhancement of the often poor-quality and reduced dynamic range digital images of the X-ray film and for the increase of their dynamic range by using a strict ordering relation and a histogram specification technique.","PeriodicalId":225101,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128396772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
