One of the methods in analysing these biological data is by looking at the maximal patterns that exists in the data. Discovering the relationship among the biological sequences is based on the importance of the maximal patterns of these sequences. These maximal patterns can be used to build indexes a faster search. In this research, we used parallel methods to improve the speed of an existing maximal pattern finding algorithm, TEIRESIAS. There are two phases in the algorithm, which are the scanning and the convolution phases. The first phase detects short patterns in the biological data and the second phase combines the short patterns into longer patterns without sacrificing the meaning. The output will be maximal patterns. The first phase of the algorithm is very compute intensive. We improve the overall process of finding maximal patterns by decomposing the biological database and by distributing it to be input into to the TEIRESIAS algorithm. We applied the master-slave model and used OpenMP to implement the model. Our results show that the performance decreased when we used 8 threads. The results also show that there are 1.6 time and 2.0 times improvement in terms of the overall speed of the algorithm when we used two threads and four.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130576552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MobChild conceptual model is developed for the implementation of MFolktales mobile application. This paper presents the practitioners' perceptions on the effectiveness of MobChild conceptual model. Eight (8) variables have been identified through background identification and integration of theoretical solutions. The variables are mobile apps technology, layout, content, navigation, touch gestures, learning theory, scaffolding and user. Descriptive analysis and relationship evaluation have been conducted to validate the effectiveness of the variables that included in the model. Pearson's product-moment correlation has been conducted to determine significant correlation between each variable. The results from the test show that the Pearson's product-moment correlation for all relationships displayed strong positive correlations. Thus, there were statistically proven that mobile apps technology, layout, content, navigation, touch gestures, learning theory, scaffolding and user variables should be applied in the development of MFolktales mobile application.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133791327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is considered time consuming and distract users from their application if each such frequent (re)calibrations involve user interactions. Furthermore, it will be prone to user-dependent errors into the system setup thus leads to reduce user's acceptance on OST HMD in AR applications. Nowadays, a few studies toward interaction-free calibration implementation on OST HMD have been done. Recent implementation on interaction-free calibration issues are associated with the virtual display calibration which is related to the eye and world camera relation with display screen. Thus, we propose a novel approach that utilizes a display screen space based eye tracking into OST HMD calibration. By simultaneously measuring eye movements and map the tracked eye coordinate into a 2D display screen space, a calibration formulation can be done without involving the eye tracker properties. This work is expected to be established for efficient and high accuracy interaction-free OST HMD calibration which will be beneficial in AR applications that used OST HMD.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"376 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131170297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research work, a proposed hybrid system through facial expressions and speech is used to estimate basic emotions (angry, sad, happy, boredom, disgust and surprise) of a person when he is engaged in a conversational secession. Relative Bin Frequency Coefficients and Relative Sub-Image Based features are used for acoustic and visual data respectively. Support Vector Machine with radial basis kernel is used for classification. This research work revealed that the proposed feature extraction through speech and facial expression is the most prominent aspect affecting the emotion detection system accompanied by proposed fusion technique. Although, some aspects considered affecting the emotion detection system, this affect is relatively minor. It was observed that the performance of the bimodal emotion detection system is low than the unimodal emotion detection system through deliberate facial expressions. In order to deal with the issue, a suitable database is used. The results indicated that the proposed emotion detection system showed better performance with respect to basic emotional classes than the rest.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132531771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shortage of food supply, clean water, and problems caused by unreliable communication continued to affect flood victims even after the flood water had receded. As aid is crucial, the correct management of the supply chain is important to allow a correct and relevant assistance to the needy population. Thus, the Supply Chain Management (SCM) system, which includes inventory management system, automatic matching of supply and demand, consumption trend analysis and data visualization is critical so that the delivery of humanitarian aid can be executed on time, which in turn reduces the impact of the disaster. Lack of either one of these components can lead to problems of forecasting the needs of the flood victims and causes unnecessary delays in decision making. The main objective of this paper is to propose a framework for SCM to support flood disaster relief operation and describe the different phases within the supply chain of food aid in a humanitarian crisis. This proposed framework is to enhance the existing SCM system so that the three phases involved in a flood disaster, which are pre-disaster, during disaster and post-disaster can be managed in a more systematic way. Based on the proposed framework, a supply chain management system can be developed to include inventory management system for monitoring, managing and distributing goods; matching of supply and demand for overcoming demand uncertainty; and data visualization for quick decision making.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"81 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116690678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the existing solutions in predicting corrosion occurrence often lead to an extremely high cost to be implemented. Worse, the current implementations require manual data entry, which lengthen the time taken for processing in order to obtain a reliable corrosion prediction. If a corroded pipeline failed to be predicted much earlier, the pipes might burst and will cause a significant chain of events that will affect the aqua eco-system. The companies will suffer huge financial losses to mitigate the catastrophic situation. Hence, a better pipeline corrosion determination mechanism needs to be developed to address the issues found in this dissertation. Through early prediction on the corrosion occurence, it will provide the user with the knowledge for a better decision making. This paper will deliberate on a system that predicts corrosion rate using the deWaard- Milliams model. Arduino UNO R3 was used in this project, in predicting the corrosion rate. As a proof of concept and performance, simulations were carried out using synthetic dataset to test the efficiency of the proposed system. Synthetic data was generated through the Gaussian function in Java. The proposed prototype was tested. Three types of testing were conducted which are data quality test, accuracy test and corrosion rate analysis. Data quality test is to ensure the synthetic data generated are closely matched with real data. Accuracy test evaluates the predicted corrosion rate against the real field data obtained from literature studies. Corrosion rate analysis provides an overview and comparison between the effects of the parameters determining the corrosion rate and the predicted corrosion rate. The results exhibit the capability of the mechanism to accurately predict the corrosion rate.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133954188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since there is no cure for autism, prompt interventions and effective educational exercises allow children to achieve massive improvement. During the teaching and learning process, children with autism require particular consideration and attention. Thus, with the implementation of information technology in special education, the teaching and learning process could to become more efficient. Struggle in social interaction skill is known as one of the main drawback encountered by children with autism. Therefore, a mobile social application is proposed to help the children to develop social interaction skills. Nonetheless, this paper only deliberates on the design phase mobile application development. It is developed for children with medium functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are learning basic interaction skills. The application's design phase implements the results from the analysis phase, which has concluded earlier. Five evaluators were involved in the heuristic evaluation, in order to enhance the user interface of the mobile social application. The outcomes from the evaluation conclude that all evaluators has agreed with all heuristics. Not to mention, beneficial recommendations were also achieved from the evaluation. The future work of this paper will be the development phase of the mobile social application.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"405 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133236109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MEDLINE, Web of science, Scopus, ACM Digital Library, Emerald Management, ScienceDirect, IEEExplore, SpringerLink, and Google scholar were comprehensively searched using the terms “customer relationship management”, Or “CRM”, AND “healthcare”. Forty-one articles were found, selected and carefully reviewed to their direct relevance and significance. Findings indicate that there is a lack of CRM research in the field of healthcare as in general, and the concept of CRM is new to the healthcare field as the amount of studies has grown significantly from 2010. Furthermore, the existing research regarding CRM in healthcare falls into four main classifications - (1) CRM in general, (2) e-CRM, (3) implementation, and (4) adoption. Issues and subjects regarding each CRM research classification was discussed. However, most of the found studies were conducted based on a review method, in which more empirical evidence is needed.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125821648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rate of fault detection is one of the prime goals that we tend to achieve while doing prioritization. Test cases should run in an order to increase the possibility of fault detection and it should be achieved early during the test life cycle. To reduce the cost and time of regression testing, test case prioritization should be done with the intention of periodically modifying the test suite. The humongous set of test cases makes it redundant and cumbersome for the testers who ensure quality for an end application. The fault detection capability of a prioritized test suite is improved up to 15% using Modified PSO which forms the base algorithms for prioritization. The algorithm illustrated detects serious errors at earlier phases of testing process and effectiveness between prioritized and unprioritized test cases.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126029871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It may increase competitive advantages as well as enhance the relationships with the customers. Achieving high e-service quality and user satisfaction are challenging since they depend fundamentally on user perception and expectation which can be tricky at times. To date, there is no agreement as to what service quality is, and how it should be measured, whether it is a function of statistical measures of quality including physical defects or managerial judgment, or it is a function of customer perception about the services. This paper deep-dived the quality of e-services offered by five Malaysian Institutes of High Learning (IHL) including two private and three public universities. A quantitative approach was utilized to collect the data and AMOS 21 was used to analyze the data and develop the measurement model. The paper aims to find the relationship between e-service quality dimensions and the user satisfaction by using Conformity Factor Analysis (CFA) test with 320 students in the target universities. The research results indicated that the measurement model has acceptable values and ready to conduct the Structural Equation Model (SEM) for the relationship between e-SQ dimensions and user satisfaction. Achieving high user satisfaction can enhance the competitive advantage of the universities in their respective target markets.","PeriodicalId":224429,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123491144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
