In order to implement image fusion on a real-time embedded system, a proper algorithm must be considered. A novel image fusion scheme based on biorthogonal wavelet decomposition is presented in this paper. As for wavelet transform algorithm, due to the virtue of its multi-resolution, wavelet transform has been applied in image processing successfully. Another advantage of wavelet transform is that it can be much more easily realized in hardware because its data format is very simple. This could save a lot of resources, besides, to some extent, it can solve the real-time problem of huge-data image fusion. However, as the orthogonal filter of wavelet transform doesn't have the characteristics of linear phase, the phase distortion will lead to distortions of the image edge. To make up for this shortcoming, the biorthogonal wavelet is introduced here. In this paper, the hardware and software solutions of an embedded real-time instrumentation are demonstrated. This design which is implemented on the high performance DSP (TMS320DM642) platform has combined an infrared image and a visible image with biorthogonal wavelet fusion technology.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121067090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed architecture is based on a graphic process unit (GPU) using CUDA environment, where it can effectively take advantage of modern GPU's parallel computing power. The implemented system with this architecture employs a multi-thread model and memory optimization to process MP3 decoding in parallel, so it is significant to minimize the computational overhead. Aiming at this problem, the new vegetation height inversion method based on the BP neural network is proposed. The new method directly fits the nonlinear mapping relationship between the complex correction coefficients and the vegetation height, so it reduces the height inversion error caused by the error in the estimated ground interferometric phase. The new method has better performance than the three-stage vegetation height inversion method, and the experiment results validate the superiority of the new method.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125131584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the goodness-of-fit of distribution model to SAR clutter has great effect on the performance of algorithm, after a comprehensive statistical analysis of background clutters of different SAR data, a modified CFAR algorithm based on the Alpha-stable distribution is proposed for detecting small targets in SAR images, especially under the extremely inhomogeneous background clutter. Considering for the complexity of Alpha-stable distribution model, the parameter estimation and threshold determining steps of the modified algorithm are introduced in detail. Performance of the algorithm is assessed by experiments on ADTS data. Compared with typical two-parameter CFAR (TP-CFAR) algorithm based on Gaussian distribution and K-CFAR algorithm based on K distribution, the proposed method is demonstrated to be most suitable for detecting small target in extremely inhomogeneous regions.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126629985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventional Hough Transform (CHT) is one of the popular techniques to detect lines accurately. Randomized Hough Transform (RHT) decreases the huge computation of CHT, but the random samples produce large invalid samples, so it increases the time and space complexities. Another disadvantage of RHT is that some important line properties, such as line length, the start and end positions of the detected line, can not be gotten directly. This paper proposes an improved RHT algorithm to decrease the invalid samples by finding the relation between the improved chain code direction and line points. The neighbour point distances are computed to segment lines so as to retrieve the line length and positions. Experiment showed this improved algorithm can detect and locate the line segments faster and more precise than RHT in the Cartesian coordinate system, especially for the noisy-image and complicated image with lots of connected regions.","PeriodicalId":223866,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Image Analysis and Signal Processing","volume":"342 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122752779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
