The three switched reluctance motors are 6/4, 6/10 and 6/16 two-teeth structures, respectively, along with the permanent magnet synchronous motor topology of 12 stator slot and 8 poles. The parameters of the motors are optimized for the best torque performance through genetic algorithm. The comparison contains torque output, iron loss and efficiency. Consequently, the results demonstrate 6/16 two-teeth switched reluctance topology is a potential candidate for electric vehicle applications.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128892101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the mismatch of the DC link voltages between the charging stations and small scale EVs may increase the difficulty of design and control of the charging facilities. Along with the growing penetration of renewable energy, vehicle-to-buildings (V2B) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interfaces, requiring bidirectional power flow would be the essential features of future EV wireless charging systems. In order to tackle this issue, this paper suggests a high-frequency step-up inverter based on series-parallel conversion of switched-capacitor with the associated staircase modulation and power flow control for WPT applications. Corresponding to the system parameters of a typical electric microcars, the operating principle and the power flow control of the proposed inverter are verified by simulation. The battery power as well as the primary and secondary AC waveforms of the simulation model are presented.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133678846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The peak current when a human is in initial contact of an electrical signal is examined. The use of square wave is a better method for human detection as it gives an exponential current that is unique as compared to another electrical appliance. The result provides a critical judgment for smart electric socket which could identify human being from another appliance. The whole research is based on the human model in the standard of IEC 479[3]. Considering the instant effect in the first charging moment by the step pulse, the human model is simplified to an RC circuit.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132606917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the electrical characteristic of a HD-GIT-based GaN power transistor is investigated with experimental study. Based on the gate I-V relationship, the design of the gate driver circuit is discussed. The gate driving losses as well as the switching waveforms of the HD-GIT under hard-switching operations are analyzed. Besides speeding up the switching operation, the reduction in the gate voltage and gate charge saves the gate driving power. These features substantially increase the maximum operating frequency of the HD-GIT-based power converter. The current collapse free operation allows the device working at a wide range of voltage and duty cycle without notable degradation of the dynamic on-state resistance.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130109151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fuzzy logic control (FLC) and backward propagation neural network (BPNN) control are investigated in this paper to realize position control for a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) against its nonlinear characteristics. Principles for FLC and BPNN control are introduced elaborately. Simulation results via BPNN show that dynamic position errors for the LSRM can be limited to 0.1 mm. Experimental results on FLC suggest that point-to-point position tracking for the motor can achieve 0.01 mm, constraining dynamic position error in 0.1 mm. By experiments, FLC for the LSRM performs better than traditional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control, proving the effectiveness of the alleviation of the nonlinearity for the LSRM.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125402661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach employs the d-q control theory to obtain in real-time the active and reactive currents from the EV's battery during different operating conditions. To overcome the sub-optimal operation of existing methods which are based on optimization of a single operating point during steady state, the proposed method adjusts the proportional and integral coefficients of the based on the Sugeno — PI fuzzy controller during critical transients such as a load disturbance. The mechanical structure and mathematical model of the PSRM is first presented. The sensorless initial mover position detection method is then developed based on bootstrap circuit. For this method, the voltage and the peak time of voltage are measured by charging a bootstrap capacitor of each phase of the PSRM; the position range and the inductance are calculated theoretically according to the peak time; the initial position can be calculated theoretically in terms of the built inductance model and position range. Furthermore, simulation is carried out base on ANSYS Maxwell. Simulation results demonstrate that the relative error between the detected position and the real position is less than 3% with the proposed method; the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122412802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, machine technologies based on conventional materials are reaching to a limit. Moreover, airframe design has been predominantly built around the podded configuration of the jet engine, which compromises aerodynamic efficiency and prevents radical new design. On the top of these, the rapidly growing aviation industry also faces stringent environmental standards and economic challenges. Thus, technological breakthroughs and paradigm shifts are urgently required. A novel low inductance flux-enhancing motor is proposed for a distributed electric propulsion system for a 200-ton hydrogen fueled aircraft. A multi-domain component oriented model of the aircraft is then built to provide system performance prediction of the proposed superconducting propulsion system. Extensive simulation results show the motor outputs and the power requirements over a one hour flight, and insights into this mode of future propulsion.","PeriodicalId":223569,"journal":{"name":"2017 7th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications - Smart Mobility, Power Transfer & Security (PESA)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131151351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the analytic hierarchy process, the 10kV distribution network project evaluation index system is established, influence among evaluating indicators is analyzed and influence matrix of evaluating indicators is built. After that, the calculation methods of correction factors, which are developed from the influence matrix, can make quantitative analysis for the urgency of medium voltage distribution network comprehensively. Not only the evaluating indicator importance degree to the overall evaluation is considered, but also the impact of mutual influence degree between evaluating indicators on the overall evaluation is taken into account. It is possible to give a more accurate evaluation score level for evaluation samples.
