Sugeno — PI fuzzy controller for battery bidirectional charging in the electric vehicle to support voltage stability in V2G distribution grids
A new Sugeno — PI fuzzy controller exploiting the battery storage capability of the electric vehicle (EV) to improve voltage stability of a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) distribution grid is proposed. The approach employs the d-q control theory to obtain in real-time the active and reactive currents from the EV's battery during different operating conditions. To overcome the sub-optimal operation of existing methods which are based on optimization of a single operating point during steady state, the proposed method adjusts the proportional and integral coefficients of the based on the Sugeno — PI fuzzy controller during critical transients such as a load disturbance. Comprehensive simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy PI controller demonstrates significant improvements over conventional PI controllers in supporting voltage stability in V2G distribution networks.
