Multiple scoring systems (e.g., transport risk assessment in pediatrics (TRAP) and transport pediatric early warning score (TPEWS)) have failed to reliably predict the need for intensive care admission. We hypothesize that better characterization of these patients will allow for the identification of subgroups of patients with distinct phenotypes who will benefit from additional prehospital, transport, and hospital resources. Unlike typical case reviews, M&M participants analyze cases with adverse outcomes and identify contributing factors. This audit and peer review process allows for improved professional development and patient safety. The Transport Team of a large pediatric acute care teaching hospital wanted to enhance the current case review process by incorporating elements of the M&M structure, with the aim of positively impacting team satisfaction, professional development and multidisciplinary collaboration. Hospital based HFV-iNO systems are not transport capable. The neonatal transport HFPFV (Percussionaire, Sandpoint, ID) and the AeroNOx iNO system (International Biomedical, Austin, TX) are transport capable. The iNOmaxDSIR iNO system (Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, Bedminster, NJ) is not approved with HFPFV. In-line iNOMaxDSIR alters the HFPFV clinical performance. One iNO delivery system for intra- and inter-hospital use has advantages: (1) lower costs and (2) single system maintenance. Primary Hypothesis: Effective iNO delivery can be achieved using side-stream iNOmaxDSIR injection into HFPFV. Secondary Hypothesis: The side-stream delivery will not clinically alter …","PeriodicalId":222503,"journal":{"name":"Section on Transport Medicine Program","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123417528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
