However, gaps remain in pediatric disaster preparedness. The New York City Pediatric Disaster Coalition (NYCPDC) goal is to prepare NYC for mass casualty events that involve large numbers of children. On May 25, 2017, the NYC PDC conducted a large citywide exercise testing surge, communications, and secondary transport. Participants included 28 NYC hospitals, the NYC Fire Department-Emergency Medical Services (FDNY-EMS), NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM), NYC DOHMH and the NYC Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The exercise was prospectively designed with specific goals: to test and …","PeriodicalId":222503,"journal":{"name":"Section on Transport Medicine Program","volume":"28 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121912592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ACH recently opened a satellite children’s hospital (ACNW) in Northwest Arkansas, to serve one of the top five fastest growing regions in the country. ACNW is a 24-bed satellite hospital providing emergency medicine services and inpatient care for non-critically ill children in the region. Patients requiring services not available at ACNW are transported to ACH via Angel One Transport (AOT), a specialized pediatric RN/RT team housed at ACH. …","PeriodicalId":222503,"journal":{"name":"Section on Transport Medicine Program","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114357524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Volume targeted ventilation (VTV), also known as volume guarantee (VG) has been increasingly used on neonatal intensive care units worldwide. Systematic reviews comparing VG with pressure limited ventilation have shown significant short and long term benefits. Early initiation of this advanced ventilator mode during the stabilization period and throughout the neonatal transfer is arguable in most clinical situations. However there are limited studies and papers on VG mode …","PeriodicalId":222503,"journal":{"name":"Section on Transport Medicine Program","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129156267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
