In India, the energy use is at disaggregate level. Electricity is necessary in various types of activities and in each it takes a different character. There is a strong two-way relationship between economic development and energy consumption. The dynamics of growth in one sector with more residential electricity brings realistic potential for efficiency. The increasing availability and usefulness of electricity set the limit to its requirements in a region and the actual level of its consumption at any given time depends on a number of socio-economic factors which are usually not taken into account in making estimates of future requirements. In India, the growth in demand has exceeded the growth in generation capacity as a result the country is facing acute energy and peak shortages. The studies also discuss possible pricing options to bring about more efficient use of limited generated capacity as well as addressing the issue of equity. Some studies also tried to estimate the final demand which is price sensitive for both residential and industrial consumers. This study attempted to bring out literature reviews covering Studies on Electricity Economics; Studies on Household Electricity Consumption; and Studies on Managing Electricity Consumption.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125445248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The year saw an uprise in the Indian insurance sector as major structural changes took place with the ending of the government monopoly and the route of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) Bill lifting all entry restrictions for private players and allowing foreign players with some entry restriction and limits on direct investment ownership. With the fast-changing liberalization, globalization and privatization policies, the changing and growing needs and demands of people have made the insurance industry more competitive. Both public and private players now offer greater choice in terms of products and services. They also make valuable efforts to create awareness about the benefits and significance of insurance although there is still a blocking point among the people. This paper analyzes and rates all the life insurance companies by analyzing certain variables, measuring the customer perception, purchase behavior, and consumer awareness regarding the life insurance industry.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129088997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The global development is multidimensional and multilateral and it transformed many countries. Emerging Market and Development Economies shifted the geographical landscape and new growth centers have come up and now the paradox is whether these developments are identical with the countries and people. The literature shows that the global economy was expanding with falling unemployment and brought inequality among countries. International cooperation, world tax and migration governance is increasing and it brought new challenges. India and a few developing countries have unique position as a global player in the knowledge based sectors. Technology has changed its trajectory and the robotics and machine intelligence would significantly replace labour in the future. The countries like India and China have grown faster than the OECD average. However, impending ricochet in global GDP growth is doubtful as slow growth and trade tensions are observed in the world. Such global trade tensions may be avoided if the countries respect multilateralism. The current condition of the global manufacturing activity, lower business spending, lesser consumer purchases of durable goods, passive final demand, muffled inflation and trade tensions needs to be addressed. The world output discussed in this paper shows that for the periods 2020 and 2021 it is not favourable for the emerging market and developing economies. The assessment of the global economic situation portrays that the global economic realignment is unfavourable to the emerging market and developing economies in particular and other economies in general. This necessitates for an appropriate policy formulation to contain the declining trend otherwise global equality cannot be achieved and results in furthering of geopolitical and bilateral and multilateral trade tensions in the future.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124655736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The NABARD implemented such programmes favouring SHGs in the country. SHGBLP requires coordinated efforts by all stake-holders to tackle the issues of heavy concentration, stagnation in growth, multiple membership, lower bank linkage both in number and quantum, and also for the rising of non-performing assets in the country. The cooperative institutions like District Cooperative Central Banks and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies have a long history and also helped the beneficiaries tremendously in our country. It is noted that the SHGs has grown over the years in various parts of the country but 26 per cent of them have been brought under the SHG-Bank Linkage Programme. In addition, a huge amount of regional variation in both credit deepening and credit widening has been observed in the country.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115872254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

NABARD has intensified its efforts for roping in new partners for promotion and bank linkage in regions where the growth of groups has not been commensurate with potential. Priority has been assigned to awareness building and for identification of NGOs and other partners in 13 priority states, which account for 70 per cent of rural poor in the country. The phenomenal growth rate of micro finance sector, especially the SHG bank linkage programme has posed number of issues and challenges which need immediate attention. There is a huge amount of regional variation in both credit deepening and credit widening, though a lot of measures are being implemented by NABARD through various agencies. This indicates that there is still a long way to go for the SHG movement and also for NABARD to attain the goal of socio-economic empowerment and also inclusive growth in the country.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128947921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also aims to determine the various purchases made through online pharma aggregators by the population sampled. A sample of 201 respondents (Aged 18- 50 above) was taken to collect the data. The data has been gathered through a questionnaire and the data collected has been tested using Porter’s Five forces theory, Technology Acceptance theory & Extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. This paper sheds light on the various platforms of Online Consultation, E-pharmacies, medical aggregators, and also gives an additional insight on the whether the respondents prefer the conventional “Brick & Mortar” pharmacies over E-pharmacies while touching upon the factors that impact the sample’s buying choices and tastes. The analysis of the collected data determined that, E-pharmacies have seen a rise mainly do the convenience it offers and the said “technology” and “concept” of using e-commerce for medicine & health related purposes have increased purely due to the fact that these sites and aggregators make a conventionally tedious task simpler.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125944266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also common in many areas in the Theni district. The study villages in the Theni district are affected by the aeolian sand deposition, forming linear dunes along the Western Ghats. They have been so for hundreds of years. Arable/agricultural land has been covered by dunes for an area of 12,000 ha. There are even now high dunes stretching for almost 20-25 km all along the Western Ghats, after about 40 per cent of the area has been sand quarried in the last several years. The villages get very low rainfall of about 650 mm to 750 mm a year. Purpose of the Study. The purpose of the study is to look at what has happened after sand quarrying/mining of the area by the human agency and how the reclaimed areas used, particularly for small-scale agriculture, in the last several years. The Objectives of the Study. The objectives of the study are: (1) To examine the process of land reclamation in the study area through sand mining from the dunes and sand encroached areas; and (2) To analyse the use of reclaimed land for agriculture, particularly by the marginal and small farmers of the study villages. Land Reclamation and Agriculture of the Study Area. Land reclamation hereabouts has been happening for several years, but it has been primarily an individual effort. Some farmers have decided either on their own or the advice of someone or in some cases they have simply followed others. Lands of considerable extent have been reclaimed from the sands in the villages of Sillamarathupatti and Silamalai, which are our current focus. The paper speaks about the impacts of land reclamation on the agriculture of the villages from a questionnaire survey.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124732808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
