This materialistic turn has also gradually resulted in man losing faith in ‘religion as the harbinger of individual and social harmony’. Now, a question arises to me and that relates to whether man lives for bread alone or if there is something more to him. My enquiry into this question helped me to understand that we lack not the proper philosophy of life, but the lack of practice of the norms laid down by philosophy. Here, it is important to realize the Jaina emphasis on upayoga (utility) than upabhoga (consumption). We are also reminded of the practices suggested by Jainism, including ahimsa (or non-injury to other lives), which reawakens the people to the innate dignity of all life. The above-mentioned principle is the basis of equality and a pre-requisite of global harmony. The method that enables us to tread from mere search to realization is commonly called ‘YOGA’. The Jainas understood ‘yoga’ in terms of ‘cāritra’ or right conduct which is one of the important teachings of Jainism, namely ‘triratnas’ (three jewels involving right vision, right knowledge and right conduct).","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"498 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127590681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the pandemic forcing people to stay indoors and limiting access to traditional forms of entertainment, OTT platforms have witnessed a surge in popularity. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gather insights into the factors driving consumer behavior towards OTT platforms. Through an online survey and in-depth interviews with OTT users, the study finds that factors such as ease of use, affordability, and availability of diverse content play a significant role in shaping consumer preferences. The study also sheds light on the emerging trends in the OTT industry and offers insights that can be useful for businesses in this sector. Overall, this research provides a valuable contribution to the understanding of how the pandemic has impacted the media consumption habits of consumers and offers insights for OTT platforms to cater to the evolving needs of their users.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128458674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is pertinent here to remember the qualities that Plato seems to suggest – namely, quick intelligence, memory, sagacity, cleverness coupled with highspiritedness and magnanimity. A teacher can do this only when he functions in an impersonal manner. Another factor that makes up a teacher is the fact that he should be able to combine his teaching abilities with a strict sense of governance. Tirukkural, a thematic presentation of the views from this text will definitely showcase the contribution of Tirukkural (G.U.Pope and Dr Cheyon) in the field of education too. It is important for one to define philosophy of education in such a way that it can contribute to the overall development of the child. Hence this paper has attempted to look into what philosophy of education ought to be in the light of these wise sayings.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127906059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Savings and investment have been considered as two critical macro-economic variables with microeconomic foundations for achieving price stability and promoting employment opportunities thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth. Since independence Indian economy has been moved from a moderate growth path of 1950-1980 to a higher growth trajectory since 1980s. Over the last four decades, Indian economy has emerged as one of the fastest growing economies of the world. This paper considers savings, investment and economic growth for India using annual time series data for the period 1991/92 to 2017/18. The study make use of the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to test for cointegration and Error correction based Granger causality analysis for investigate the causality between the variables. Data for Gross Domestic Savings (GDS) and Gross Domestic Investment (GDI) were taken from the National Accounts Statistics of India and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was taken Reserve Bank of India. The study finds that saving explicitly determines investment in both the short and long runs and there is no evidence is found to support the usually accepted growth models in India, that investment is the engine of economic growth.","PeriodicalId":221284,"journal":{"name":"JOURNAL OF DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT RESEARCH STUDIES","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122238551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
