The quadruped robot was designed which has a couple of advantages of flexible locomotion. The full biological concepts are considered to design quadruped walking robot. It includes simplified mechanical design and simplified central pattern generators (CPG) network. In this paper, a neural oscillator model with three segments of animal legs is obtained. The cross-gramian is related to the Hankel operator and the Hankel singular values of a linear square system and it has several interesting properties. These properties make the cross-gramian popular in several applications including model reduction, control configuration selection and sensitivity analysis. The ordinary cross-gramian which has been defined in the literature is the solution of a Sylvester equation. This Sylvester equation is not always solvable and therefore for some linear square symmetric systems, the ordinary cross-gramian does not exist. To cope with this problem, a new generalized cross-gramian is introduced in this paper. In contrast to the ordinary cross-gramian, the generalized cross-gramian can be easily obtained for general linear systems and therefore can be used in the applications instead of the ordinary cross-gramian.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115654500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system can be used in arbitrarily series-parallel connected battery packs, and effectively manage batteries working in the charge or discharge mode. For the discharge mode, we develop a new method of battery capacity equalization, and determine the minimum number of battery for equalization. This system not only reaches balancing discharge but also meets the requirement of output power. For the charge mode, this system can individually adjust the charge current according to the battery energy storage status for a charge equalization. Furthermore, the battery can be immediately isolated while it is not working in the safe operating range.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"5 41","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113932605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This phenomenon has been a key bottleneck in the use of piezoelectric mechanisms in fast precision scanning applications. This paper presents a systemic model identification and composite control strategy without hysteresis measurement for such applications. First, least squares estimation using harmonic signals is applied to achieve the Preisach density function. Next, the hysteresis output is estimated using the identified Preisach model. Then, the non-hysteretic electric and vibration dynamics are identified. The discrete composite control strategy is proposed with a feedforward-feedback structure. The feedforward controller is the primary component designed for the performance. The secondary PI feedback controller is used to suppress the offset and disturbance for robustness. Finally, the identification and composite control strategy is implemented with a dSPACE 1104 board for a real piezo setup. The experimental results show that adequate scanning performance can be sustained at frequencies higher than the first resonant frequency.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121691248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous work has shown that multi-channel solutions could effectively improve network reliability and deliver higher throughput as well. While a number of multi-channel medium access control schemes have been proposed, there are not much work on routing protocol design addressing the unique challenges multi-channel schemes are facing. In this paper we present a multi-channel cross-layer tree routing protocol. Our contribution includes: Adaptive beaconing corresponding to network topology; Beacon-driven, send-data and receive-data driven link quality estimations; and synchronized MAC and routing table management. Our protocol has been implemented on a testbed consisting of 53 nodes deployed in a 5-story building. Experimental results show that our approach provides fast convergence rate, stable topology and over 99.8% data transmission reliability.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125327158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So a mathematical representation of a permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented here. It is a commonly used network security algorithm for wireless transmission systems. It is a symmetric block cipher, which plays a major role in bulk data encryption. Four different modules with specific functions are included in this algorithm. The hardware / software co-design methodology is adopted to implement one of the functional modules in hardware and subsequent remaining modules in software. The module in hardware is implemented on FPGA and added as hardware accelerator to the processor. The proposed hardware / software implementation is done on Altera NIOS II processor platform. An implementation result shows a considerable improvement in speed as compared to software only approach. On the other hand, the significant reduction in area is achieved as compared to hardware only approach.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"352 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122848008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
