This novel control strategy is implemented in the a-b-c coordinate, so reference-frame transformation from a-b-c coordinate to d-q-0 rotating coordinate and inverse transformation from d-q-0 rotating coordinate to a-b-c coordinate are not required which decreases the controller operation time comparing with conventional d-q-0 controller. The control algorithm results in balanced and sinusoidal load voltages under unbalanced AC loading. The unbalanced load is characterized in both the a-b-c and d-q-0 coordinates. Also, the mathematical model of the load converter in both a-b-c and d-q-0 coordinates is derived by using the average large signal model. Then, two control strategies for the load converter are presented. The first one uses the conventional d-q-0 controller to ensure the voltage and current regulation. The second one is this novel proposed control strategy based on the power conservation theory. The two control strategies have been applied to the reference voltages generation of the load converter. The performance of the load converter with these two control strategies is compared with each other. Simulation and experimental results show the validity and capability of the novel proposed control strategy.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127521884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our model, the object rough location tracking is realized by color histogram and Harris corner features fusion method in particle filter framework. Thus it can achieve more robust tracking performance in many challenge scenes. And this particle filter framework is based on our previous CamShift guided particle filter [7]. With the rough object location, efficient region-based temporal differencing model is adopted for object contour detection, then this method is faster and more effective compared to active contour models or conventional global temporal differencing models. Moreover, exact contour tracking result can be used to guide the particle propagation of next frame, to enable more efficient particle redistributions and reducing particle degeneration. Experimental results demonstrate that this proposed method is simple but effective in object location and contour tracking.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130615594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal is to minimize the drift resulting from the wave action by appropriate thrusters control. The model of the platform is a SIMO (single-input multiple-output) system, therefore an interesting question is that the plant has less degree of freedom for actuation and is difficult to control. The control problem of the underactuated system is solved by an iterative multi-stage sequential procedure. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate that the control achieves efficiently the dynamic positioning system. Therefore robust techniques based on QFT methodology constitute attractive alternatives in the application of positioning control of an underactuated marine system.","PeriodicalId":220747,"journal":{"name":"2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131844194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A nonlinear sliding manifold is designed. A terminal sliding mode controller is designed to drive the sliding variable to the vicinity of the origin. The bound within which the sliding variable stays eventually is found. How the state variables behave subsequently is also analysed. All the above analysis are based on the assumption that the uncertainty is unknown but bounded. At the present time, HEVC development is at its finalizing stages and achieving a 50% bit-rate reduction as compared to that of the current H.264/AVC video coding standard. Significant increase in resolution and perceptual quality can be expected for home and mobile video applications with future devices and content using HEVC. Beyond 2D video, the work for the 3D extension of HEVC has begun. In this paper, we look at HEVC and its 3D extension and discuss future research challenges addressing them.
