This work introduces a novel approach to summarize videos, primarily video lectures by varying the video playback frame rate without removing any frames from the video. This is accomplished by using Self organizing feature maps so as to learn from previous users' data and give the optimized playback frame rate as the output. A video player is modified to record the key strokes and create a database of previous users' playback preferences. Being a self-learning system, the accuracy of results is better when training is done using a vast set of data. Finally, a comparison of the original video and the final output video is made by analyzing the experience of volunteers.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132014847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is established by researchers that the level of attentiveness of a normal person is greatly expressed by his eye-blinking rate. If a person is feeling fatigued or drowsy, his eye blinking pattern changes. In this paper BioID dataset has been employed for eye detection and result were 97% positive detection. Using the detected eyes, we determined the eye-blink rate which if varied from the average threshold level determined that the person is fatigued or low on attention. The result for eye-blink detection is 87%. This methodology when employed in vehicles will help greatly in reducing the amount of fatigue related accidents by alarming the driver so that he can take preventive measures.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114999860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Encounters are uncertain in opportunistic networks and it is difficult to determine the occurrence of next encounter. So it is essential to have an efficient node discovery mechanism in opportunistic networks to make most out of short duration of encounters. In this paper we consider these factors and proposed a new method to calculate the probing intervals and to make node discovery well-organized and more effective. We perform simulations to test the performance of our proposals.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124402228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These signals are useful in wearable electronic devices such as those used for human-machine interface, health monitoring and prosthetic limb control. High-order spectra, such as bispectrum, have been used to analyze surface electromyography since they have been shown to be non-Gaussian in nature. We propose the evaluation of mean frequency from axial integrated bispectrum for analysis of electromyography signals. The proposed parameter is tested on surface electromyography signals recorded from two muscular locations on hand for three pairs of opposite activities. As compared to the conventional technique of evaluating mean frequency from the power spectral density of the signal, the proposed parameter provides better distinction between the considered activities.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115202812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The duration of fetching data varies depending on type of data required from the system. This paper presents the performance estimates in terms of MySQL Partition, Hive partition-bucketing and Apache Pig framework. In this paper, big data eco systems and comparative performance analysis of frequently used data retrieval techniques such as MySQL, Hive and Pig are described. From the work presented in the paper, it is concluded that the execution time for extracting data becomes very large with growth in data size, particularly in case of MySQL. As compared to MySQL, Hive and Pig takes less time and give better results.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"454 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116410683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, for the development of quality software, it is indeed necessary to specify both functional and non-functional requirement for the proposed software especially for those who program it. Hence, it is must to model the non-functional properties of the system. However, focus of modeling requirements is limited to the functional requirements only. Hence, this paper addresses the issue of specifying Non Functional Requirements (NFR) by integrating the NFR with Reference Model on the basis of soft nature of NFRs. Result analysis validates the claim that the proposal presented in this paper is compared well with various established measures. For validation purpose the sensitivity analysis is also carried out.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125175143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image segmentation is essentially a multi-objective optimization problem. In this paper an unsupervised image segmentation method is proposed that is based on a nature inspired clustering approach, Multi-objective Gravitational Search algorithm (MOGSA). A variable agent representation is used to encode the cluster centers with different number of clusters. A new fitness function based on multi-objective optimization is proposed to make the search more efficient and faster. Total number of clusters and cluster centers evolves automatically in proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm considers two objectives, minimize intra-cluster distance, and maximize inter-cluster distance. The proposed method has been applied on standard images and compares the results with K-means clustering, Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering and single objective Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA). Experimental results showed that Multi-objective Gravitational Search algorithm (MOGSA) perform better than K-means, fuzzy c-means and single objective Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA).","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126058990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The name watermarking is derived from the faintly visible marks imprinted on organizational stationery. A robust and novel strategic approach for insertion-extraction of a digital watermark in color images is presented. Watermarks are generally intended to be visible but are invisible. Invisible insertion of the watermark is performed in the most significant regions of the host image such that tampering of that portion to remove or to destroy will degrade the esthetic quality and value of the image. One feature of the algorithm is that these user defined characters are used as a region of interest for the water marking process and eliminates the changes of watermark removal. Specifically we are interested to develop dithering techniques intended to embed color watermarking into color image. Here we have proposed and implemented dithering techniques in various color spaces like RGB and HSV. An attempt is made to develop full color water marking scheme using those techniques.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123218935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
