This paper throws a glimpse into the strides made by such researchers. As UNL provides a language independent platform it eases out the decision making by accessing the valuable and meaningful information, which is otherwise a challenging errand. Thus it captures information and finds its major application in Natural Language Processing (NLP) domain. The paper is written with the intent to introduce its readers to the UNL framework and explain how it is being used to solve some real world problems.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126192568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The NRZ line encoder and decoder are implemented in Verilog using MentorGraphics ModelSim Edition 10.4a. The three encoding schemes namely NRZ-Level, NRZ-Mark and NRZ-Space are implemented. The algorithms for the encoder and decoder are functionally verified and are made synthesizable using Xilinx V.10. The performance of the synthesized hardware is studied for different FPGAs families and devices such as Spartan 3E, Virtex 4 and Virtex 5. A performance comparison in the terms of utilized logic, power and delay is presented. The analysis of the results shows preference for Virtex 5 FPGAs in high speed data transmission whereas the Spartan 3E FPGA can be utilized in low power data transmission.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114895622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pertinent of power quality issues has been lately elevated because of the extension utilization of power semiconductor impedimenta, that upshots in a voltage and current waveforms deviation. The Power Quality (PQ) scanned is encrusted by two main objectives: The advancement of PQ indicates to liberate the power supply condition and the electrical disturbances revelation such as harmonics, transients, sags, swells, notch etc., which allows willful the conditions of the power systems. Here in this paper feature vectors are extracted by using wavelet packet transform. Different approaches for endpoint detections are explained and compared to Gujarati words. Speech end point detection is required to find speech segment edge points in the presence of the background noise. It isolates words from the silent portions and improves overall accuracy of the speech recognition system. Because the silence portion is mostly affected by the noises [1]. In this work speech data is collected with the in-ear microphone. Results suggested that it gives a high recognition rate compared to conventional recording methods, i.e. by keeping the mic outside mouth. Word boundary detection is also useful to separate out the different words form sentences. The end point task is quite difficult in real time, because of low signal to noise ratio in most of the situations. Detected words are then passed to the feature extraction block.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129811509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nodes are not aware of changing network topology. So, static routing is not possible here and dynamic routing is best suited for such networks. In this paper, a Cloud Computing Based Routing Protocol (CCBRP) has been proposed for infrastructure-based Oppnets. It uses the concept of cloud computing in which data and other utilities can be accessed, configured, and manipulated on demand. In this work, 3-tier architecture has been developed for CCBRP that has three layers namely normal/regular nodes, Infostation infrastructure, and Cloud server architecture. The performance of CCBRP is evaluated and compared against the Horizontal and Vertical Ferry (HVF) strategy. Results obtained indicate that CCBRP outperforms HVF in respect of average latency and messages delivered.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"14 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127679229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present work, a comparative evaluation of two segmentation methods named as active contour and level set is presented. Comparative evaluation of both methods has been done individually by applying on Computed Tomography (CT) abdomen images. Comparative study is done by following steps (i) Preprocessing using morphological functions (ii) Segmentation of liver using active contour/level set algorithms (iii) 3-Dimensional volume reconstruction. Results of applied liver segmentation algorithms are compared with manually performed delineations by radiologist. Volume overlapping of above methods is assessed using Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) which gives mean DSC of 93.52%±.62 and 89.48%±.76 in case of active contour and level set method respectively. Finally it can be demonstrated that active contour is superior to level set in terms of accuracy, processing time and 3D volume reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132421344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While selecting the best unused channel for transmission, a secondary user (SU) can use various parameters, among which the probability of appearance of the primary user (PU) in the channel. If that probability is high, the SU has to vacate the channel quickly when the PU will appear. This increases the hand-off and degrades the throughput. In this paper, the probability of appearance of a PU in a particular channel is predicted using an artificial neural network learning technique that learns the previous behavior of the PU. Simulation results are presented, showing that our proposed approach can be well fitted with the Mean Square Error (MSE) method as low as 0.08.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130177123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a target under complex motion, the time histories in the backscatter signal with time-varying Doppler frequency shifts are modeled as multicomponent PPS. We propose the convolution of scaled high-order instantaneous moments to enable the use of high resolution spectral estimators, such as estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance technique (ESPRIT), for estimation of the parameters of the multicomponent PPS. Using the proposed technique, the phase parameters are estimated with enhanced resolution and improved accuracy in terms of the MSE of the estimates, as compared to the conventionally used Fourier transform based method, for the considered multicomponent signal in medium to high signal-to-noise ratio. The proposed technique is utilized in ISAR imaging to achieve highly focused image of the target.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115651717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
