A signature is one of the most widely recognized way to authorize transactions and authenticate the human identity as compared to other electronic identification methods such as fingerprint and retina scans. Due to a huge demand for authentication, fast algorithms need to be assimilated for signature recognition and verification. Human signatures can be treated as an image and the techniques of neural networks can be applied to them for recognition and verification. This paper exploits a database of samples of offline signatures that are captured in an image format and this database is used to train the neural network.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116474547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Redesigning helps us in restructuring code without any change in its external behavior. It is not feasible to restructure each class of the software due release time constraints. Therefore, there is a need to prioritize classes so that effort and quality can be improved. In this study, we have proposed a framework based on the combination of C & K metric suite and eleven types of bad smells. A new metric, Quality Decline Factor (QDF), has been proposed which identify the severity of the classes and helps the software maintenance team to focus only on severely affected code. Pareto analysis is also valid in this study which states that 80% of the code quality can be improved by providing redesigning treatments to 20% of the severely affected code. This study will reduce the work of software maintenance practitioners and will help them to complete their work on time.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124646215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Basically, it is a fusion of both global and local features of images, which achieves significantly higher retrieval competency. Initially, the global features of images are determined using polar cosine transforms (PCTs). For local features, we use rotation invariant local binary patterns (RLBP) rather than using the existing ones, which help in improving the retrieval rate and are in alignment with the rotation invariant property of PCTs. The combination of both acquired global and local features is performed by mapping their features into a common domain. Finally, the proposed hybrid approach provides a robust feature set for image retrieval. Detailed experiments are performed on various sorts of image databases. The results of extensive set of experiments reveal the supremacy of the proposed approach over other approaches in terms of efficiency and retrieval results.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132194736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a network model for the performance analysis of D2D communication with RF energy harvesting in a peer to peer simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) strategy with the RF transmitters. We use the stochastic geometry models such as Poisson point process (PPP) and the Ginibre Determinantal point process (DPP) for the distribution of the base stations, cellular and the D2D users in cellular network. The D2D users use one of the channel allocated to the cellular users during transmission by using the prioritize spectrum access policy (PSA). The proposed network model is simulating in the MATLAB for the performance analysis and the results are equated above 10,000 recitations. The results show that the DPP distribution is more effective in D2D communication with SWIPT transmission and energy harvesting than PPP.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134399324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data sensed by these nodes is transfused to the base station using various routing procedures. The pivotal issue in wireless sensor networks is of lifetime and energy conservation as the sensor nodes' energy source is often very arduous to replenish. To increase the lifetime of WSN we have proposed IL-LEACH (Improved Lifetime Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy). Sensor nodes placed in vicinity sense correlated data which is sent to the cluster head. IL-LEACH aims to mitigating the correlated data transmissions by forming groups of nodes into virtual correlated cluster (VCC) and allowing only one node to send data. Simulation results in MATLAB demonstrate that proposed IL-LEACH increases the lifetime of sensor network by about 30.006% in comparison to the existing LEACH protocol.","PeriodicalId":220344,"journal":{"name":"2016 1st India International Conference on Information Processing (IICIP)","volume":"269 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131864162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
