When applying coatings using diffusion methods, their quality is controlled by electron microscopy of transverse sections. The rolling process was numerically simulated, as close as possible to real conditions in roughing and finishing stands. The process of cutting varietal rolled rods on a cooling conveyor is mathematically described. The adequacy and suitability of the developed models are confirmed by the results of further research related to the solution of a number of practical problems: an algorithm for a system for determining the optimal cutting of varietal rolling, which can significantly reduce the cost of producing one conventional ton of products, is developed; technological solutions are developed to prevent the formation of surface defects of rolling origin in the roughing group of stands by controlling the volume of coolant supplied to the rolls; and a new calibration scheme that makes it possible to obtain high-precision geometry of the transverse profile with controlled inter-stand tension is proposed.</p>","PeriodicalId":21903,"journal":{"name":"Steel in Translation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142222549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
