The utilisation of the KLT normally implies the availability of multiple realisations of the image of interest. However, the derivation of the KLT in the case of a single realisation is possible under certain assumptions. The KLT transforms the original image into a new image with components (pixels) which ideally are statistically independent. The watermark is introduced during the transformation process. For better human-computer interaction it is necessary for the machine to see people. This can be achieved by employing face detection algorithms, like the one used in the installation \"15 Seconds of Fame\" (F. Solina et al., 2002). Mentioned installation unites the areas of modern art and technology. Its algorithm is based on skin-color detection. One of the problems this and similar algorithms have to deal with is sensitivity to the illumination conditions under which the input image is captured. Hence illumination sensitivity influences face detection results. This problem is being more or less successfully solved by the use of color compensation and color constancy methods. In this work some of these methods are described, realized and tested. Their basic intention is to eliminate the influence of non-standard illumination from images. In this paper, a new open-loop all-digital carrier recovery method for multiple phase shift keying (MPSK) which is based on random data modulation is presented. This method uses fast Fourier transform (FFT) along with peak detection to estimate frequency offset and uses Kalman filter to track phase. Its complexity is very low, and it is also easily implemented with digital hardware. Although optical flow information enables us to know the displacement of objects present in a scene, it cannot be used directly to displace an object model since flow calculation techniques lack the necessary precision. CQP is known as a class of well-structured convex programming problems for which efficient interior-point solvers are available. By considering factorized denominators, the proposed formulation incorporates a set of linear constraints that are sufficient and near necessary for the IIR filter to have a prescribed stability margin. Also included in the formulation is a second-order cone condition on the magnitude of each update that ensures the validity of a key linear approximation used in the design and eliminates a line-search step. In most cases, the signal intensity-time curves in user defined regions of interest (ROI) are studied. As image acquisition is ECG-gated, the images are acquired at the same moment in the cardiac cycle, and the basic shape of the heart is similar from one view to the next. However, superficial respiratory motion can displace the heart in the short-axis plane. The aim of this study is to correct for the respiratory motion of the heart by performing an automatic realignment of the myocardial ROI based on a method tracking the movement of the lung-myocardium interface. The system comprises the benefits of a set of other binarization techniques by combining their results. This is necessary for bad illuminated and degraded document where there are many pixels that cannot be easily classified as foreground or background. For this reason, it is necessary to perform the final binarization by exploiting the results of a set of binarization algorithms, especially for the document pixels that have high vagueness. Also, in this paper significant improvements are proposed for two of the methods used, i.e. for the Adaptive Logical Level Technique (ALLT) and the Improvement of Integrated Function Algorithm (IIFA). For these filters the impulse response is characterized by the following: in each interval of length T/sub n/ the impulse response is expressed as polynomial of low order M, there are all together N intervals, and the impulse response is symmetric around its middle point. In the case of interpolation (decimation), the length of every polynomial segment can be arbitrary integer multiple of input (output) sampling period. In this paper, the effective implementation structure for these filters is derived. The implementation structure is based on the known Farrow structure which is commonly used for implementation of various types of polynomial-based filters. It is also shown that the number of fixed coefficients in the novel structure is the same as in the case of modified and prolonged modified Farrow structure. Qualitative and semiquantitative modifications of electroretinographic signal were emphasized. Standard shape of electroretinogram was found significantly changed in most of studied insects. Correlation dimension of visual system attractor as well as the largest Lyapunov exponent have been found statistically affected by electromagnetic exposure. Student t-test was application was able to reveal statistical significant modifications or correlation dimension. Since electromagnetic exposure affected the eye response to high intensity light, phosphoinositide metabolism that is controlling protein kinase C kinetics (responsible for light intensity adaptation), seems to be troubled during electromagnetic treatment.","PeriodicalId":218932,"journal":{"name":"3rd International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis, 2003.
