In this sense, the aim of the study is to determine the rate of sexting for the research sample, identifying the factors which affects the perspective towards sexting and to investigate whether there is a relationship between victimization and sexting. Methods: The sample of this research is consisted of 565 participants who are 18 years and older. Theory of Reasoned Action has been used as a background theory to predict and determine the perspective towards sexting and sexting behavior. The data were collected by using demographic information form and sexting scale which are prepared by researchers. Results: The rate of women participants is 70.4% (398) and for men 29.6% (167). For age distribution, 61.4% (347) of the participants are in the age group of 18-25, 38.6% (218) of them are in the age group of 26 and above, and the average age is 25.2. It was determined that a great majority of the participants engaged in sexting, men had more positive attitude and more frequent behavior compared to women, and being a victim of sexting did not make a significant difference on the perspective towards sexting. The proportion of individuals who became a victim because of sexting is 22.5% and most of them were women. According to types of victimization, individuals mostly experience emotional and psychological problems; however, it has been determined that the victimization is not limited to a single form. Conclusion: The prevalence of sexting, perspectives of the individuals and their motivation to act are determined to a certain extent. In this way, the case of unconsidered sexting in Turkey is identified and it is asserted that it can cause serious problems worth considering.","PeriodicalId":217673,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Legal Medicine","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116944567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study’s aim is to describe the demographic, psychological and environmental factors associated with cyberbullying experiences in high school students. Methods: This study was conducted with 431 high school students with a mean age of 16.01, 52.2% of whom were girls. The form used includes demographics, risk behaviors, school and family perceptions, risky behaviors on the internet, and Cyberbullying, Children’s Self-Efficacy and, Childhood Narcissism Scales. Results: The girls’ rate is higher than the boys’ in the non-participant and victim groups. Harmful substance use is the highest in the bully-victim group. In addition, the rate of owning personal computers is higher than other groups in bully-victims and, they pretend to be a different person on the internet. Those who use the Internet to find new friends, pretend to be a different person on the Internet, and share their private information with strangers have higher narcissism scores than those who do not. Grade and having close friends who show antisocial type behaviors predicts victimization. Having personal computer, grade, truancy and finding easy to bully other people predicted being in a bully/ victim group. Narcissism did not mediate the relationship between self-efficacy sub-dimensions with cyberbullying groups. Conclusion: Cyberbullying is associated with many individual and social factors. To investigate the mediating effects of narcissistic characteristics, it may be suggested to examine the types of narcissism and the factors affecting attitudes towards bullying.","PeriodicalId":217673,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Legal Medicine","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127748141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People experience victimization in many ways in daily life. Victimization is a concept that needs to be handled from a very broad perspective since it covers many factors such as its existence, effect, being individually or in group nature. For this reason, victimology, a sub-field of criminology, has an important place. Victimology is derived from the victima and logos and a science deals with victims of crime. In studies of Victimology, personality traits, behaviors, perception of crime, and attitudes towards criminals are among the risk factors that increase the probability of being a victim. The psychological effects experienced by the victim are considered to be the longest and most important and various changes occur in the behavior and emotions of the victim. It is known that the victims’ failure to report to the necessary authorities constitutes an obstacle in both determining and solving social problems. The victim has some rights after the action which are under the control of national and international laws. It is a well-known fact that, victims of crime are supported within the framework of humanitarian values. It is extremely important to act according to the multi-disciplinary model in order to ensure the physical and mental well-being of the victim. It is important to increase the awareness of people by carrying out studies on the psychological problems of victims and to reduce the victimization in the world and in our country.","PeriodicalId":217673,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Legal Medicine","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133416969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved by the taxon alkaloids (Taxin A and Taxin B) that cause cardiotoxic effects in its structure. Taxins cause cardiac dysrhythmia with the effect of calcium channel antagonism in cardiac myocytes and cause a clinical deterioration leading to death. The diagnosis of yew fruit poisoning is usually made by identifying plant parts in the digestive system. With the recent technological developments and the development of toxicological diagnosis methods, the diagnosis of metabolites in lower doses has begun to be made more easily with clinical suspicion.","PeriodicalId":217673,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Legal Medicine","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126244316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to evaluate the cases whose autopsy was performed in the Mugla Branch Directorate of Forensic Medicine and the cause of death was determined as methanol poisoning, and to raise awareness about this type of poisoning, which is on the rise in our region. Methods: A total of 3.498 autopsies were performed in the Mugla Branch Directorate of Forensic Medicine in an 8-year-period between 2013 and 2020, and the cause of death in 21 of them was determined as methyl alcohol intoxication. rate due to methyl alcohol intoxication is 6.0 per thousand. Sixteen (76.2%) of the 21 deaths due to methyl alcohol intoxication occurred in 2020.
