The stability of the Laguerre structure is compromise between the FIR and IIR structures, since the Laguerre structure is always stable. We also analyze the bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed equalizer and the conventional equalizer. The simulation results confirm that the performance of the proposed system in terms of bit error rate has been improved over the conventional equalizer, such as fast convergence and lower BER than the conventional adaptive equalizer for every Eb/N0 value.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117300705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A virtual community (VC) is a trust domain. In trust management, trust propagation is crucial within a VC. Moreover, trust propagation for federated VCs (FVCs) is also important with various federated mechanisms arising. In order to implement trust propagation for FVCs, a layered trust management architecture is proposed and trust evaluation on VCs is also considered. Then trust propagation for a new entity for FVCs is discussed as an example. During trust propagation for FVCs, privacy protection is a focus. Two typical privacy-protected trust propagation models for FVCs are proposed and their workflows are designed in detail. They are simple trust propagation model (STPM) and identity ticket-based trust propagation model (ITTPM). Besides the sameness, ITTPM is more complex than STPM. However, ITTPM is more flexible than STPM while STPM can protect more user privacy than ITTPM. Our method meets requirements of trust management of VCs and takes into account security and factors that will influence the definition of trust inside an identity system.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117234384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates the current trends in understanding and applying the fairness concept on the Internet. Then it studies and examines the extension of the fairness concept in the context of development and developing regions, where both the traditional lack of infrastructure and costly communication services have also affected the penetration of the Internet and more even distribution of its benefits. The key question is whether or not it is plausible to identify a framework for the evaluation of efficiency-fairness tradeoffs that may provide a sound basis for a model of a more equitable access to the Internet to a diversity of users with different needs and financial possibilities representing mainly developing regions and emerging economies.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129704335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unique feature of the individual gun can be extracted by using the absolute value of Fourier coefficients of polar image of cartridge case on circles with different radii. The obtained absolute value of Fourier coefficients is considered as the rotation invariance feature of the cartridge case image. Finally, the Fisher's linear discriminant function is used to identify the gun. The 3-channel VFB consists of variable lowpass, variable bandpass, and variable highpass digital filters that are transformed from a normalized analog prototype Chebyshev type-I lowpass filter. Since both the magnitudes (gains) and band edge frequencies of the three variable digital filters are independently adjustable, the 3-channel VFB is considerably flexible for achieving high-accuracy audiogram fitting. The objective of this paper is to reveal and theoretically prove the numerator coefficient-symmetries of the three variable filters, and show that each variable filter requires only one multiplication for its numerator filtering operations, so the total number of multiplications can be significantly reduced, which facilitates high-speed audiogram fitting and low-power implementation.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127911793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

N. Lie as a prevention technique against the copyright infringement. In this conventional method, the capacity of watermark information is not enough, and it is desirable that the capacity of watermark information is increased. In this paper, we increase the capacity of watermark information by embedding multiple watermarks in the different levels of audio data independently. The proposed method has many data-channels for embedding, and hence it is possible to embed multiple watermarks by selecting proper data-channel according to required data capacity or recovery rate.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126689560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this method, wavelet approximate subband that contains much information is firstly interpolated by interpolation methods such as cubic spline in order to find the decimated low-pass component of the image. The low-pass component is then deconvoluted for getting the original image. To confirm the effectiveness of proposed method, the experimental results performed with standard test images reveal that proposed method outperforms conventional methods. The best result in peak-signal-to-noise-ratio is 39.27 dB by our proposal with cubic spline interpolation.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126713266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
