Also, many studies have been focused on the medicinal chemistry aspects of these compounds, revealing their wide range of biological activities. This article presents a brief discussion regarding the structure, reactivity, aromaticity, and synthesis of the heterocyclic sydnone ring (1,2,3-oxadiazolium ring). This work aimed the synthesis of carbon nanostructures by the CVD process, at 900 o C, using methane as carbon source, using two iron ore tailings for later application in the removal of dyes. The characterization of the materials indicated that the pure tailings had iron oxide phases that were transformed into α -Fe and γ -Fe after the CVD process. TG indicated 38.7 and 66.0% of carbon for RA CVD 900 and RL CVD 900, respectively, and Raman indicated the formation of graphitic and well-organized nanostructures. In this review, we show the difference between the mechanisms of the AgNPs and silver ions (Ag + ) in the chemical, biological and toxicological level, as well as the augmented influence of the bactericidal activity in the facets {111}. To better understand the efficacy of the AgNPs as an antimicrobial agent, the mechanism of action of the AgNPs was analyzed in bacteria and viruses. Among these materials, we can focus on conductive polymers such as polypyrrole (PPy), which has a variety of properties, such as electrical conductivity, good chemical stability and excellent biocompatibility. This combination of properties for applications in the form of hydrogels enables a wide area of applications. Some of these hydrogels can be exemplified in this brief review containing explanatory topics to guide the proposed study. Hydroxyl groups on cellulose chains can be chemically modified in order to improve physico-chemical properties enabling applications in different areas such as biomaterials for implants, removal of chemical components from water and hydrogels for the delivery of drugs and fertilizers. In this context, chemical crosslinkers may also bring advantages to cellulose-based materials and derivatives improving their thermal stability, surface area and swelling degree of hydrogels. Among many chemical crosslinkers, epichlorohydrin has been used in recent years to prepare materials based on cellulose and other biopolymers.
