Recent studies have used machine learning techniques to produce a seizure classification system. In this work, two aspects of seizure classification are discussed and compared in terms of accuracy and efficacy. Seizure classification can follow a patient specific or general approach. For a patient specific approach, feature extraction and classification are performed for each patient independently. However, a general approach means data is trained and classified for all patients at once. Results show that AUC of general approach is 0.74 which is higher than that of patient-specific 0.71. Computational time is decreased when using patient-specific approach to 8 hours, while general approach requires 10 hours for training and prediction.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126666030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electric vehicles' environmental impacts are briefly discussed. The relationship between the smart grid and the electric vehicles denoted under the vehicle-to-grid, and grid-to-vehicle scenarios are expressed. The integration of electric vehicles into the smart grid poses difficulties in terms of planning, operating, and controlling the grid, so these challenges are supported by applications for a progressive integration, in addition to a literature review about an investigation on incorporating renewable energy resources in this integration. Also, a new patent called the SOC-OCV estimation method is expressed with the full steps of calculations. Further, an electric vehicle model is constructed to mimic the performance of a real electric vehicle is donated with its blocks assisted with the SOC-OCV estimation method.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"62 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129166910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The architecture is composed of ubiquitously connected hardware and software systems for completing the OTA firmware updating procedure. The software system is a developed desktop application that enables Ag-IoT operators to distribute firmware remotely. The hardware system is a firmware uploader circuit that receives firmware from the software system and programs the target device. The contribution of this paper is to integrate LoRa technology for OTA firmware distribution in low-power wide area networks of Agricultural IoT. This architecture solves the problem of distributing firmware updates in low-power wide-area networks. Since remote smart farms depend on low-power technologies for controlling and monitoring. A simulation is conducted using a desktop application for sending the firmware to the remote uploader circuit. Experimental work is carried on Microchip AVR ATmega8L low-power microcontroller board, and the studied results showed a technical match to the carried-on simulation.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131526124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed magnitude response is constructed from the fractional Chebyshev polynomials originating from the series solution of fractional-order Chebyshev differential equation. The transfer function of the fractional-order Sallen-Key biquad is used as a prototype for the approximation. To identify the coefficients of the Sallen-Key topology, the flower pollination algorithm (FPA) is used to minimize an objective function representing the sum of relative magnitude error. The optimization problem is executed in MATLAB, and stable solutions are chosen for the implementation. Two different cases are investigated corresponding to filter orders 1.8 and 2.7. LT-Spice is used for circuit simulations, and the Valsa approach is used for fractional-order capacitor approximation. The original magnitude response is compared with the optimized one and the circuit simulation results, and this comparison shows a magnitude error less than 2%.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128718072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Interestingly, a detailed literature survey reveals that only voltage-biased OTAs have been used so far, for the memristor emulators, which may be due to the ease of memductance realization (through just bias voltage application by employing a capacitance). But this technique has disadvantages like; mostly commercially available OTAs are current biased, voltage biasing does not provide a better range for tunability, current biasing is more stable and can be easily provided through current mirrors in large circuits. Therefore, the presented work proposes a floating memristor emulator fully based upon the current biased OTAs and upon the proper selection of parameters, it can realize a flux-controlled memductance function. The developed floating emulator uses three single output OTAs and just single grounded capacitance. The paper also describes an application example of the proposed emulator in a neuromorphic circuit to exhibit associative learning response. To verify the designed circuits, the simulations have been executed, and the results are presented. Lastly, the realization of the proposed memristor emulator using the current mode commercial IC-LM13700 is also shown and results are discussed.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133953784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different ML models: Artificial Neural Network ANN, Deep Neural Network DNN, Support Vector Regression SVR and Decision Trees DT are trained to constrain the randomization of a Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer CORDIC design input values to hit the planned coverage items. Used ML models are compared in terms of evaluation metrics such as: Mean Squared Error MSE and R2 score. Training time overhead for each model is also considered. Tested ML models demonstrate an improvement of 55% in the number of transactions required to reach complete coverage closure when compared to traditional open-loop randomization method. Comparative analysis shows that DT is the most effective ML model to be incorporated in a CORDIC functional verification environment, due to its low training time overhead and high prediction accuracy.","PeriodicalId":212613,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115356517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
