Objective: To investigate the repercussions of Pilates training on motor coordination and stability in volleyball players. Methods: 20 athletes from a female volleyball team were randomly divided between the experimental and the control groups. Pilates intervention was performed in the experimental group. The control group followed the traditional training format, finally comparing the training results after eight weeks. Results: In the flexibility index of the experimental group, the weights increased from 23,11±5,08 times to 28,02±6,42 times; the left and right axes increased from 7,74±10,13 seconds to 8,83±8,13 seconds. In terms of the stability index, the number of intervals repeated in 20 seconds increased from 35.44±0.75 to 46.45±0.91; the lateral throw of the medicine ball was increased from 59.61±16.16 meters to 78.38±16.22 meters. The range of variation of each index is more evident than that of the control group. Conclusion: Pilates training becomes superior to usual training for the improvement of coordination and stability of volleyball players. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment outcomes.","PeriodicalId":21213,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Medicina do Esporte","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67381144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CrossFit has been an effective training method for its natural movements and integration of aerobic and anaerobic exercises. It is believed that these characteristics may benefit the physical fitness of aerobic gym athletes. Objective: Evaluate the effects of CrossFit training on the physical fitness of aerobic gymnastics athletes. Methods: A controlled experimental study involving 24 aerobic gymnastics athletes was run for 9 weeks. The athletes were divided into an experimental group with CrossFit-based training, the control group received no additional training intervention. The indices of physical fitness, motor function, and movement performance were analyzed before and after the intervention. The results of the statistical analyses were discussed. Results: Considerable variation was obtained in fitness indices in distinct groups of muscle activities: in abdominal crunches from 37.66±6.12 to 50.11±3.01; medical ball lateral throw from 8.04±1.00 to 10.80±2.21; lateral bridge from 72.60±11.40 to 113.69±14.47; the flexion in sitting position from 22.52±2.51 to 26.46±1.33; and rope climbing from 32.32±7.28 to 25.97±7.08. In functional terms, the movement response time to music was optimized from 15.38±0.36 to 13.08±0.21; and the movement performance score was increased from 72.56±2.25 to 80.91±1.02. There were no significant changes in the control group. Conclusion: CrossFit training was shown to improve the physical conditioning of aerobic gym athletes and the functional movement performance of its practitioners. The situation of bodily injuries and prevention strategies during this period urges investigation and adaptation for a preventive approach. Objective: Explore the current scenario by devising means of prevention for sports injuries caused in the home environment. Methods: A total of 60 people were selected as experimental volunteers for home sports injury analysis, 30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group, the cases were studied, and hypotheses were raised corroborating a preventive system of the cataloged home sports injuries, as well as the mitigation of their intercurrences. Results: In the experimental group, the flexion amplitude increased from 74.55±5.30 to 95.19±6.54; the extension amplitude increased from −3.88±3.29 to 1.57±2.17; the walking index evolved from 22.61±7.00 to 28.53±5.74; the stair activity index increased from 18.70±6.79 to 18.70±6.79. The same data measured in the control group showed no significant changes. Objective: Prevent tennis players’ knee joint injuries by exploring ways to improve lower limb joint stability. Methods: This paper selected 50 national second-level professional tennis players and divided them into two groups. Both groups had daily tennis training, but the experimental group experienced additional lower limb flexibility exercises. Results: The tennis players in the experimental group increased their seated forward flexion from 22.19 cm to 26.96 cm, the knee joint extensor muscle strength index increased from 142.69 to 176.23, and the knee joint flexor muscle strength index increased from 93.21 to 149.28, P<0.05, with significant differences. The general stability index was changed from 0.23 to 0.20, the internal and external indices varied from 0.13 to 0.08, and the frontal and posterior indices changed from 0.13 to 0.08. Conclusion: Knee joint injuries in tennis players can be effectively combated by adding lower limb flexibility exercise protocol to daily training. It is believed that this activity can significantly influence the physical capacity of the lower limbs of basketball athletes. Objective: Study the effects of cyclic resistance training on basketball players’ lower limb strength and balance ability. Methods: 36 basketball players were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received training for eight weeks combining routine training with cyclic resistance training, while the control group remained with routine training only. Relevant performance, strength, and balance data were analyzed before and after the procedure, undergoing statistical analysis and confrontation with current literature. Results: The peak flexor moment in the experimental group increased from 94.42 ± 28.20 Nm to 101.85 ± 23.30 Nm; the peak torque of the extensor muscle increased from 161.88 ± 39.16 Nm to 186.19 ± 40.29 Nm. In the balance ability test, the left lateral test increased from 68.78 ± 4.65 cm to 74.35 ± 3.29 cm, the left increased from 109.33 ± 7.22 cm to 114.65 ± 7.54 cm. Objective: This paper investigates whether relaxation training after volleyball is beneficial in the competitive levels of volleyball players. Methods: 60 volleyball players aged 20-23 years were selected as participants in the experiment. They received relaxation training for 8 weeks, and heart rate changes were recorded before and after relaxation. Results: The heart rate of athletes in a resting state before training changed from 79.93 in the first week to 81.07 in the eighth week; after volleyball practice, the heart rate of athletes before relaxation varied from 136.13 to 140.73 from the first week to the eighth week; after the introduction of relaxation training, the heart rate of athletes was 84.71, and the minimum heart rate recorded was 80.74. It can be seen that relaxation training allows athletes to recover quickly to a normal state and achieve the goal of relaxation.
