Many of these cable lines have been installed dozens of years ago, so there is a strong interest in getting an overview on the condition of the insulation of these cables. For this purpose, a long lasting aging experiment has been performed in the laboratory, where multiple cables of all kinds of different service histories have been artificially aged in an accelerated way by means of thermal and electrical stresses and combinations of these. During this process, the diagnostic parameters like dissipation factor and partial discharges have been continuously recorded at power frequency (50 Hz). The gathered data from the laboratory experiment serves as basis for field measurements, which are being carried out. The necessary measurement equipment has been engineered and integrated in a cable test van. This consists of two different voltage sources (50 Hz and 0.1 Hz), a measurement unit on top of a high voltage divider and a computer based control and data acquisition system. A correlation of these two measurements promises enhanced diagnostic relevance for the condition assessment of medium voltage networks. Based on numerous field measurements carried out in the local distribution network, new approaches in the correlation of measurements at two different frequencies of test voltages are to be created. This includes a reference to other already well established methods. However, the reference to other methods needs to be verified in a more detailed way.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125002455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a cost-efficient asset-management of electrical grids, the status and remaining lifetime of electrical equipment is of highest interest. Diagnostic systems on the market do not deliver a significant and detailed information about the ageing status. Due to this fact, a longer lasting project is set up with the goal to artificially age, analyse and diagnose the ageing behaviour of PILC MV-cables. The general task of the accelerated ageing system is to apply enforced stress conditions to selected test cables out of field operation. In this way, defined artificial and accelerated ageing conditions are generated to provoke faster but realistic ageing processes. The characteristic diagnostic values are regularly acquired by a specific automatized measurement and control system together with necessary additional data, like e.g. temperatures, applied voltages and currents, which are controlled by sensors. In the article the methods, the design and the key values for the projection of the system will be presented. Using this approach, it is possible to simulate the ageing of field equipment during its operation over several decades within an experimental time span of several months.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"57 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116515956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the low discharge ability of the dielectric material, it may cause the surface discharge of the spacecraft and affect the normal work of the spacecraft. Polyimide is a typical dielectric material on the spacecraft, this paper attempts to improve the surface discharge ability by modifying polyimide with nano-ZnO. The research method is based on the surface potential decay platform, which is an intuitive approach to evaluate the states of surface charging. The surface potential decay characteristics of pure polyimide and its modified samples are tested. The surface potential decay mechanism of the dielectric is analyzed by calculating the trap characteristics. Results show that the surface potential of ZnO modified polyimide has less decrement and rate of decay than that of the pure polyimide. The deep trap density of electron trap and hole trap density is less than that of pure polyimide, the shallow trap of pure polyimide is the lowest. The change of electron trap level is small, while the hole trap level increases.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122087455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flat reference samples and various defect systems were made, among others, inclusions of polymer and Fe-based filler were added, impurities and cracks were prepared. The heating and cooling of material samples was recorded as the sequence of infrared images. It allowed to detect of the areas with different thermal properties. Based on the results of thermographic measurements, a comparative analysis of data from samples with defects and without defects was made. In addition, inference was made on the basis of information on crafted defects. It is assumed that it will be possible to develop new defect detection methods in SMC materials based on the obtained temperature distribution images. This will enable you to identify defects such as inclusions, lack of homogeneity, cracks or distortions in the structure of the investigated material.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"525 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123205104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most common application is electrical rotating machines, where it has the function as ellectrical insulation of coils. Commonly resins are used as matrix materials for layered composites used as complex electro-insulating material, but for evaluation which type of resin is better, we must conduct several experiments (dielectric, structural, mechanical etc.) that show the best candidate. This paper presents an experiment where three types of resins (epoxy, polyester, silicone resins) are submitted to thermal aging process under three different temperatures and compared to each other by their dielectric properties. Evaluation of these commercial resins are done mainly for possible future nanocomposite application.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122284236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents experimental results of dissolved gases in the camellia insulating oil under typical thermal and electrical faults in transformers. The thermal fault simulation experiments include low temperature, medium temperature and high temperature, and the electrical fault simulation experiments include partial, breakdown and arc discharges. Experimental results show that except CO and CO<inf>2</inf>, H<inf>2</inf> and C<inf>2</inf>H<inf>6</inf> were main characteristic gases under thermal faults, the percentage contents of H<inf>2</inf> decreases while CH<inf>4</inf>, C<inf>2</inf>H<inf>4</inf> and C<inf>2</inf>H<inf>6</inf> increases with the temperature increase. The joint model enables calculation of the transmission line parameters over the joint length in the frequency domain with all geometrical changes and all variations of the materials. The model is based on a well-known simulation model for energy cables, which has been enhanced to represent a cable joint. The presented work introduces a connection joint with a geometrical field regulation. This type of joint was chosen because, at higher voltages, such types of field regulation are used most commonly. The model calculates the transmission line parameters over a broad frequency band with a detailed representation of a real joint.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132190408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Study of these factors and experiments describing behavior of monitored electrical equipment are important for understanding of stressors synergies. The work is focused on gamma-irradiation as one of the most aggressive degradation factors in nuclear power plants. The aim of this paper is to compare mechanical properties (Elongation at Break - EaB) of dielectric material of a coaxial cable and its electrical properties. Experiments were conducted on two types of coaxial cable with a different kind of dielectric material: Teflon (PTFE) and polyethylene (PE). Monitoring of EaB is commonly used and accepted as a reference method for determination of residual equipment lifetime. However, this destructive testing method is not suitable for the use in power plants. Non-destructive electrical testing is the promising trend in nuclear industry.","PeriodicalId":211666,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Diagnostics in Electrical Engineering (Diagnostika)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115894352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
