The research locale included seven public schools in the district: Camanlangan Elementary School, Camanlangan National High School, La Purisima Elementary School, Magangit Integrated School, Major Angel V. Fajardo National High School, Panag Elementary School, and Tandawan Integrated School. The respondents of the study were 105 teachers from the aforementioned schools, selected through universal sampling to represent the entire population. The study aimed to describe the status of knowledge regarding specific variables and examine the degrees of relationship among those variables using a survey questionnaire. The research findings revealed a significant positive relationship between the teachers' attitudes and their sense of self-efficacy. This suggests that teachers with more positive attitudes tend to have a stronger sense of self-efficacy in their teaching abilities and practices. The research design allowed for the careful collection, analysis, and interpretation of mostly quantitative data to achieve the study's objectives of describing the phenomena at hand and establishing the relationships between the variables in question. The insights gained from this study will provide valuable information about the educational landscape of the New Bataan District and contribute to the understanding of the factors influencing educational outcomes in the region.\u0000KEYWORDS: Teachers’ Attitude, Self-Efficacy, Descriptive Correlational Study

Further, this undertaking aimed at knowing the experiences of the students and the teachers, the problems encountered, mechanisms used in coping with the problems experienced, and the best practices developed conducting the reading program. It employed a qualitative research design specifically phenomenological study. Using validated interview guide questions, the researcher conducted an in-depth-interview among the selected reading teachers and reading specialists of Davao de Oro Division. The results of the study revealed that teachers’ experiences in the conduct of the reading program varied such as dwindling interest of the students, reading program not implemented, students getting bored, students improving in reading, problem with reading materials. With these experiences, teachers have made preparations to effectively conduct the program like equipping the teachers first, set the tone for the program, prepare learning materials and ask students to do advance reading which led to positive results and many inspiring experiences like program good for the students because they have seen that students improved and learned. It also revealed that the commonly encountered problems were the lacking of participation of the teachers, denial of non-readers in their condition, support from parents, time allotment for the program, poor comprehension, unmanageable number of students, and lack of reading materials. As they have experienced such problems and difficulties, the mechanisms used were involvement of concerned individuals, introduce interventions, improve vocabulary, individualized session, introduce varied teaching strategies, and provide learning materials. To some extent, the best practices revealed the usage of different strategies, adoption of slow readers, make reading opportunity regular, on time conduct of reading program, make reading part of the class program and existence of reading corners in the classroom. The recommendations suggested that teachers must embrace the importance of reading preparations, and set the tone of the program to avoid technical errors and discrepancies. Proper trainings and workshops implementing effective reading strategies should be done to cater the students’ reading needs and difficulties. Lastly, a strong support system among the school administrators, parents, and stakeholders in terms of reading needs.\u0000KEYWORDS: Reading Program, Phenomenological Study

Work engagement is being challenged by various roots globally not just in the aspects of educational institutions but also in other workplaces. Teaching is undoubtedly one of the most stressful occupations and the most common problem is the work engagement of teachers. Previous studies found that work engagement has profound effects on both individuals and organizations. Engaged employees reported higher job satisfaction, increased well-being, and reduced turnover intentions. Additionally, it is thought to be influenced by motivation and numerous other elements that contribute to job satisfaction, ultimately influencing teacher retention within an educational establishment. This study aimed to determine the level of workload and work engagement of 105 teachers in New Bataan District and identify the relationship between these two variables. This study was conducted with a descriptive-correlational, quantitative, non-experimental research design. The research data were obtained through an adapted questionnaire from 105 public school teachers in New Bataan District, Davao de Oro. The results revealed that the level of teachers’ workload is generally high, when perceived with the indicators of duties and obligations, energy, and time. Also, the level of work engagement when perceived with the indicators of vigor and dedication is generally high, however when perceived in terms of absorption it was relatively low. In addition, it was revealed that there is a negative correlation established between the level of teachers’ workload and the level of teachers’ work engagement. Therefore, work engagement tends to decline with increasing workload.\u0000KEYWORDS: Workload, Work Engagement, Duties and Obligations, Time, Energy, Vigor, Dedication, Absorption, descriptive-correlational, New Bataan

Sometimes these programmes are not based on Training Needs Assessment (TNA). The low performance in examinations in Kisii County may be an indication of compromised quality education due to poorly or inadequately trained Principals. The objectives of this study were: To identify the educational supervision competencies that secondary school principals need in order to effectively perform their educational activities in their schools; and to develop a training model for the effective training of Principals in Kenya. The study used a mixed method research design and within it used concurrent triangulation. The study was done in Kisii County, which is one of the 47 counties in the country which register poor academic performance in national examinations in both primary and secondary schools. The target population was 360 principals and 11 Quality Assurance and Standard Officers (QASO). The sample population consisted of 36 principals and 9 QASOs selected through simple random sampling. Questionnaires and interview guides were used for data collection. In order to ensure the validity of the instruments, they were vetted by 3 Research Experts of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. Test- retest method was used to ascertain the reliability of the research instruments. From the study the training needs of the principals in terms of the form of training, the duration to be taken, the institution to be in charge, timing of the training, the need for field practicum and need for induction of principals before assuming office were established. A training model for principals based on these findings is proposed. It is recommended that bodies charged with the responsibility of training principals in Kenya should consider adopting this model. \u0000KEY WORDS: Training needs, principals, training model.

The descriptive-correlational research design was employed. Data were gathered from 580 students chosen using total random sampling and were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean, frequency counts and percentage, Pearson-product moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. \u0000The findings revealed that in lifestyle and behavior, students’ physical activity involved 3 to 4 times of physical exercise per week. Their sleep patterns showed that they felt sleepy only 1 to 2 times weekly during their activities. Their screen time usage averaged 2 to 3 hours for different electronics, with mobile phones or smartphones more often used at over 3 hours.\u0000Moreover, the students’ nutritional status through their dietary behavior in terms of food choice revealed that they often put importance on choosing their foods. The diversity of their daily diet included vegetables, starches (e.g., rice and rice products) and meat/fish often, and fruits, milk, fats, sugar and beverage occasionally. The students’ anthropometric measurements had an average weight of 95.90 lbs. and an average height of 178.65 cm. The depression symptoms experienced by the students were borderline to moderate depression levels. \u0000The study also found that the students’ academic achievement was very satisfactory. Furthermore, correlation and regression analyses showed that the variables, sleep patterns and depression symptoms, negatively and significantly impact students’ academic achievement. Therefore, less frequency of daytime sleepiness and fewer depression symptoms could increase academic performance. Hence, these findings have implications for students’ academic success and well-being, especially in improving their sleep quality and supporting effective interventions for depression.\u0000KEYWORDS: Lifestyle and behavior, nutritional status, depression symptoms, academic achievement

By incorporating these methods into speaking instruction, you’ll provide an interactive and memorable learning experience for your students. Phenomenological research is a qualitative research approach that seeks to understand and describe the universal essence of a phenomenon. The approach investigates the everyday experiences of human beings while suspending the researchers’ preconceived assumptions about the phenomenon. In other words, phenomenological research studies lived experiences to gain deeper insights into how people understand those experiences. Participants of this study are all public-school grade 6 teachers who are teaching with more than two (2) years of teaching experience. There are only ten (10) of them to be considered (Creswell, 2013). These participants are working in public schools and are teaching grade 6 students. The first theme “shy to express ideas” has four sub-themes namely; low self-esteem. Fear of rejection, conduct proper training and unpleasant past experiences. Meanwhile, the second theme immersed based on the interview was “apply flexibility in teaching” with the sub-themes; gain confidence while speaking, cultivate a love for reading, motivate students to read and improve knowledge and understanding. Finally, the third theme immersed was “implement speak English policy” with the sub-themes; teaching basic grammar, conduct speaking activity, avoid language switching and conduct peer tutoring.\u0000KEYWORDS: Learn, talk, oral communication, affective, grade six learners, public schools
