Simple du point de vue du traitement, cette démarche permet de distinguer et de représenter à partir de données quantifiées les stratégies mises en œuvre par les principaux acteurs économiques pour peser sur les décisions et les politiques publiques. Cette démarche n’a pas seulement un intérêt en matière de classification des acteurs individuels et collectifs impliqués dans diverses pratiques politiques ou de caractérisation du champ institutionnel et du réseau que forment ces acteurs. Elle permet aussi de dégager quelques enseignements de portée plus générale sur le travail d’influence des entreprises.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123127304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Proposant un retour réflexif sur le recueil du matériel empirique d’une thèse de sociologie, l’analyse rend compte des spécificités d’une enquête sur la sexualité d’hommes vieillissants hétérosexuels atteints par le cancer de la prostate. Après une série de remarques sur le corpus d’entretiens et le dispositif d’enquête, deux hypothèses viennent étayer le postulat selon lequel les frontières du dicible et de l’indicible sont redéfinies par la maladie. L’attention portée aux facteurs ayant eu une influence sur le recueil des données permet enfin de montrer comment la relation d’enquête est traversée par des rapports de pouvoir et comment l’ouverture de l’entretien aux conjointes des hommes atteints d’un cancer de la prostate modèle le contenu des récits sur la sexualité.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121479986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, most of these studies focus on musicians; few have attempted to understand how people take part in a city’s musical life in terms of event attendance. Likewise, little has been said about the attendance habits of immigrants, despite the quick transformation of urban populations due to the expansion of human migration. Approaching a subject that has received so little attention as the dynamics of participation of immigrants in a city’s musical life therefore requires an inventive research design. Building from a methodology combining semi-structured interviews and observation, I used maps and map-making to deepen the analysis of North African immigrants’ cultural practices in Montreal. Trying to give a spatial legibility to their musical activities in the city generated many technical and theoretical concerns, but was also helpful for reflecting on the project differently and highlighting some characteristics of the data that were not obvious from the initial fieldwork. In brief, maps and map-making proved to be efficient complementary tools to ethnography, bringing new insights and raising new queries about the practices being considered.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127464684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Answer behaviour may be considered undesirable, like answering ‘don’t know’ or ‘won’t tell’. It is not clear to what degree undesirable answer behaviour from the same respondents is present across different surveys. In this study, we investigated to what extent respondents show undesirable answer behaviours consistently over multiple surveys. First, we investigated to what extent the answer behaviours occurred in ten large general population surveys of CentERdata and Statistics Netherlands. Second, we explored the respondent variances and respondent-survey interaction variances to obtain an indication for respondent consistency for each answer behaviour. The results showed that respondents only occasionally give ‘don’t know’– and ‘won’t tell’-answers. An indication for respondent consistency was found for fast responding, slow responding, and ‘won’t tell’-answers in particular. We recommend follow-up research to investigate the relation between respondent characteristics and consistent answer behaviour.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128959352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ce dossier analyse les défis méthodologiques que rencontrent les chercheurs qui travaillent sur les pratiques et représentations enfantines. Il a pour objectif, en donnant à voir diverses manières de faire face à ces défis, de participer au renouveau épistémique des études sur les enfants. Il s’agit en effet d’analyser les spécificités induites par le statut enfantin tout en rendant compte de la diversité de l’enfance. Cette perspective suppose la mise en place d’une méthodologie qui permette de placer la focale sur l’enfant sans l’isoler de son environnement. Ce dossier rassemble six contributions issues de différentes disciplines (sociologie, psychologie, science politique et géographie), qui reviennent sur des enquêtes menées auprès d’enfants ayant pour la plupart entre 5 et 11 ans, avec des dispositifs méthodologiques variés : questionnaires (Camus, Geay et Pagis ; Simon), observations au sein des familles ou à l’école (Lareau et Harvey ; Hargis), entretiens semi-directifs (Simon ; Ott ; Rouyer et al.), discussions de groupe (Ott), activités, dessins et jeux (Rouyer et al. ; Ott ; Simon ; Camus, Geay et Pagis). Ce faisant, le numéro montre en quoi une approche réflexive des questions méthodologiques rencontrées lorsqu’on interroge les enfants produit des connaissances sur l’enfance et ses différenciations sociales.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123710290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It raises two key issues. The first relates to the aptitudes required to participate in research (and thus the reliability of children’s responses) and the second relates to the potential imbalance in the research relationship. The article demonstrates that the difficulties encountered depend on the social characteristics of the children and are not specific to this age group. They primarily result from the distance between the interviewer and the interviewee, in this case stemming from the age difference sometimes accentuated by social distance. Children can be considered social beings like any others, and their specificities can be usefully analysed using the traditional tools of the social sciences.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"121 5-6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132063986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This national study has followed 18,000 children since their birth in 2011. These sociological questionnaire/games aimed to collect information on the everyday preferences of young children (then aged 5-6 years old) and indicators of their moral and social sense. But this collection method had neither pre-existing experiments it could draw on, nor technology that had been fully perfected. This article revisits the methodological questions and issues that were raised over the process of developing and then administering these online questionnaires. In particular it looks at the way that social representations of childhood and research with children were raised in exchanges between sociologists and epidemiologists, or between researchers and parents.","PeriodicalId":210053,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117173747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
