This study included quasi-experimental research with a pre-test-post-test control group design. This study involved 29 sixth grade elementary school students at Makassar. Determination of sample was done by using simple random sampling technique. Students’ mathematics learning outcomes data are obtained by using test of students’ learning outcomes in essay forms (pre-test and post-test) given classically to students. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results of this study indicated that the average value of students’ learning outcomes before and after the use of educational game media has increased from 44.14 to 85.00. The test scores of students’ learning outcomes were only centered on the medium, low, very low category before the use of educational game media. The average score in the very low category is at 31.92 with a frequency of 13 students, low category is 49.50 with a frequency of 10 students and for the moderate category is 61.66 with a frequency of 6 students. The average value of student’s learning outcomes after experiencing the use of educational game media increased with a high category of 81.58 with a frequency of 19 students while for the very high category 91.50 with a frequency of 10 students. This indicates that there was an increase in students of learning outcomes after the use of educational game media in learning mathematics. Students’ mathematics achievement is influenced by their mathematics difficulties. This study exposes students’ representations in estimating fractions to indicate their fraction magnitude knowledge. This study is conducted on the 4th grade of elementary students in Surabaya. A class which consists of 10 girls and 18 boys, had chosen purposively from 3 available classes. All students had to answer two tests, namely the diagnostic test and the fraction magnitude test. Four volunteer students were selected as research subjects which have different and interesting mathematics difficulty in fraction. Semistructured interview was conducted to all subjects to reveal students’ thinking process when solving diagnostic and fractions magnitude tests. Results suggest that 46% of 26 students who have bad score (low ability) have mathematics difficulties in representing and estimating simple fraction because they considered nominator and denominator as independent numbers (i.e. 1/3 is represented as a bar model which is divided by 4 equally parts and a part is in shaded). More than 20% of 26 students had mathematics difficulties which were not able to estimate non-simple fraction but they were able to represent it. Their ability is influenced by difficulties in fraction magnitude. These bonds can be altered given ultrasonic waves to be another form of bond or loosened. Changes in bonds will cause changes in bond characteristics to other forms of carbon allotropes. By varying ultrasonication process (time and temperature), the change in bonding or functional groups could be analyzed by changes in the structure of carbon. The ultrasonication process resulted in the bonding of oxygen atoms, produced bonding of C atoms with O, either as single or double bond. The new bond formed was linearly proportional to change in ultrasonication time and temperature. C bond with O caused carbon to change into allotrope of graphite oxide carbon, this was supported by the results of Raman spectroscopy characterization, where the defect of carbon was increased compared to carbon without ultrasonication. The intensity of the defect increased from 60 a.u to 265 a.u. An effort has been applied to integrate the learning of Animal Systematics with the training of digital literacy for pre-service biology teachers. This research aimed to evaluate the digital literacy of pre-service teachers that programming the Animal Systematics Course as well as evaluate the need for the course related to the implementation of digital literacy training. This research used mixed method, involving one group shoot case study. The samples were 25 pre-service biology teachers programming Animal Systematics Course. The course implemented projectbased tasks, namely animal systematics mini-research, scientific writing, and phylogenetics reconstruction. The digital literacy of pre-service teachers was evaluated based-on four indicators, namely internet searching, hypertextual navigation, content evaluation, and knowledge assembly. The data of the digital literacy score was analyzed descriptive-qualitatively. The result revealed that literacy digital of pre-service biology teacher can be enhanced through the learning process of Animal Systematics Course. The scores of internet searching, hypertextual navigation, content evaluation, and knowledge assembly rose significantly, reached a score of 85 on average. It can be concluded that digital literacy can be trained during the learning process of animal systematics. This research also recommends the need for an electronic book of animal systematics as supporting learning resources. The chemistry exam consists of Basic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. In the 2015/2016 school year, chemistry exam was compulsory for students who program science while starting the 2016/2017 academic year until 2017/2018 chemistry examination as a test for students who choose chemistry specialization. This test has an impact on the number of students taking chemistry test subjects, the number of students taking the National Examination in the Chemistry test in the 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018 academic years respectively, at 107345, 15600 and 22367 students. From the national Examination results data reported by Puspendik for East Java Province, an average score of National Examination scores of five chemistry test subjects with an up and downtrend in the range of 48.90 to 64.71 was obtained. If compared, the average National Examination score for each chemical material in the East Java province is higher than the national average Keywords— National Examination chemistry material; high school; average National Examination chemistry score; East Java The core competencies that must be obtained and possessed by senior high school students are the core competencies for spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Attachment to the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 21 of 2016 concerning Basic and Secondary Education Content Standards) [1], [2]. In chemistry subjects at the high school level, five materials are tested on the National Examination. These materials include Basic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. In Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Chemistry is one of the productivity subjects which in learning processes students do not only need to understand the concepts, principles, laws, and theories but also its relevance and application to solve problems in daily life [3]. The implementation of the 2013 curriculum also influenced the number of students who chose chemistry (see Figure 1). Based on the data in Figure 1, it can be seen that the number of students taking the chemistry National Examination in 2017 has decreased from 2016 and tends to rise, although not significantly in 2018. The highest number of students each year is senior high school students in the city of Surabaya. The data in Figure 1 are from Balitbang [4], [5], [6]. Fig. 1. This low percentage because of student still has misconception. Misconception can cause students having low ability to understand a concept. This misconception should be reduced, one of the ways to reduced is using remedial teaching with appropriate learning strategy which suitable with the problem that faced by student and one of them is predict-observe-explain (POE) strategy. The aim of this research is to know the effectivity of learning process using POE strategy to reduce misconceptions. This research was using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample is 33 students of XI MIA 4 at senior high school Kemala Bhayangkari 3. To know student conception this research using three tiers diagnostic test for pretest and posttest. A pretest was conducted after students have a conventional learning process with their teacher. Posttest was conducted after the student had given a treatment using POE strategy. Generally, the result shows students' changing conception. Initially, student’s conception which knew the concept is 21.03% and student with misconception is 57.12%, after implementation of the learning process using POE strategy the conception changing gradually becomes 93.5% and 4.61%. So we can conclude that POE strategy effective to reduce misconception that had been experienced by student. One of the models that can train problem solving skills is problem based learning (PBL) model. PBL model still has some weaknesses. Students find difficulties in the learning, the result of learning concept is still low and students difficult to develop problem solving skills without the guidance and direction of teacher. The results obtained during the learning process are problem solving skills still low (57%) and learning process using the PBL model found some weaknesses, namely: teachers guiding students to find real problems (26%) and trained problem solving skills (30%). Therefore it is necessary to develop a learning model that can effectively train problem solving skills during the learning process and the end of result. The learning model developed is SEA-MEA model. The theory of self efficacy academic (SEA) and means ends analysis (MEA) underlies the development of the SEA-MEA model. The MEA strategy can make it easier for students to solve problems and self efficacy can motivate and find real problems in learning.
