The problem to be solved was emerged by an increased need for consideration of detailed prerequisites when a given topic was taught. In engineering, a topic for a principle, method, process, device, equipment, or system needs multiple sources of other topics from various areas to consider. Solution is conceptualized as a course model that is configured to represent the required connections. In this paper, following a problem characterizing, the authors analyze a former proposed course model structure, consider their earlier related works and propose a new concept for course structure, its building up using practice oriented entities, and a process concept for backing up a topic by prerequisite topics.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132522258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first neural network based on Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) solves dimension reduction and generates appropriate number of features for final classification. The second neural network Projective Adaptive Resonance Theory (PART) solves classification via clustering. The clustering usage is very effective in this case because the proposed model after a small modification of clustering algorithm allows filtering of unwanted data. It means that the proposed neural network model is sensitive to predefined number of classification classes only and all other data that do not belong to the predefined classes are filtered in to separate cluster.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130383497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through the history of robotic mechanisms, path tracking was considered one of the hardest tasks, due to many different problems. Usually, robotic mechanism is modeled as a rigid mechanism and that is simplified assumption. Elasticity of the mechanism needs to be considered and that represents one of the biggest problems. The example of the robotic mechanism examined in this paper has 6 DOF. Complexity of this mechanism comes from its elasticity and controlling it with two motors is a hard task. Presented method is based on controlling a mechanism with elastic parts to track desired path by following rotations of two motors.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130419719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can say, the themes of the course of Mathematical Programming are very important for our students. We have been teaching Operation Research for technical managers and for environmental protection engineers for years in Hungarian. The name of the subject is Mathematical Programming. At our university all student must learn one course in a foreign language, in English or in German. So we announced a course of Mathematical programming for the students in English language. The title of this course is Decision Supporting Systems. Our educational aims are to give mathematical and informatics definition for economical and organization type of problems, to find the exact and approach solving of these problems. The students get to know the (software) program packages that help to solve exercises. In each year not only Hungarian students can learn at this courses, but we have ERASMUS students, and these students can choose this course too. In the education we use the possibility of the e-learning system Moodle.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130699867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Educational data mining is an emerging discipline, concerned with developing methods for exploring the unique types of data that come from the educational context. In the domain of education, there are varieties of data of different types collected during the educational process. The main question is: Is it possible to process the collected data with the data mining system and what are main advantages of data mining and e-learning interaction? In this paper, we present an insight into the possible interaction between course management system and data mining techniques. The main goal of this work is to investigate some data mining techniques in order to deliver most appropriate learning object to the learner. In this paper, visualization as a data mining technique is investigated. For this purpose, free data mining tool Weka was used.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134233540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The average length of time series was 3050 samples. The parameters investigated were: the state probability, the transition probability and normalized count histogram of the Markov chain, as well as ISI interval and ISI difference associated to each state of Markov model separately. As a control parameter, for each series pseudorandom Gaussian and uniform series with same mean and standard deviation, as well as isodistributional surrogates were generated. An unexpected conclusion is that the state and the transition probabilities, as well as the count histogram, correspond to the exact formulae that are derived for the differentials of independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) random data series.","PeriodicalId":207630,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 10th Jubilee International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116179233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
