The standard features were considered, such as linear and perceptual prediction coefficients (LPC and PLP) and mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC). Gaussian mixture model (GMM), with the use of HTK tools, was chosen for speaker modelling. Speech database S70W100s120, recorded at the Electrical Engineering Department of Belgrade University, was used for purposes of system training and testing. There are several fields where the involvement of the legislation is necessary in order to either promote new technologies because of given economical or political issues, or quite contrary, control/regulate the application of a certain technique in order to serve the best interest of the society. There are fields where ethical problems should be addressed today even the technology is not quite state-of-the-art yet, such as in the robot-human interfacing. This paper investigates how the terms of references of the vehicular electronic stability control (ESC) system was developed in the ECE-UN Working Party 29 domain in order to make the mandating of such systems in Europe possible. The paper discusses the special economical environment of the ESC systems, their impact on the traffic safety, especially the reduction of fatalities in road accidents. The different approaches in different business models of the truck fleet operators between Europe and USA is studied and its impact is shown on the legislative activities. Among the multitude of such existing calculator applications available on the market, this software framework provides not only an intuitive user interface (UI), but a special user experience too, allowing the user to input the algebraic formula using handwriting instead of classical buttons. The system uses not only the off-line information but also the on-line information available during the drawing process, and the combination of these aspects allowed the possibility to build a competitive real-time application. The used neural networks beside providing an accurate recognition for the different digits, operators and other symbols, provide a straightforward way to adapt the tool to the specific handwriting of each particular user. Century, when there are several things that make their life easier. Their biggest problem is traffic, because people sense the environment mostly through their eyes and sadly, the other organs cannot substitute sight. On the other hand, in traffic one risks the lives of others too. Serious injuries can be obtained by not seeing the obstacles in the homes. Bones can break, or even worse, permanent injuries can occur. In serious cases even the chance of death is present. Our vision is to help in this problem by developing a device and corresponding software. Handling should be easy, dynamic and minimalistic. The solution consists of two parts. The first being the software running on a Windows Phone based mobile phone, and the other one is the custom built DRAC1 hardware. Furthermore, first symptoms appear several years after beginning of the disease and the progression of the cognitive decline rises over time. Therefore, it is necessary to accomplish diagnosis at the earliest possible stage, since the subject shows a slight impairment in some cognitive function. The detection of this state, named Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), is a complex task in medicine. The difficult distinction is between normal ageing and MCI rather than between MCI and AD. In this paper, we propose a CPN based system and a scheme of data fusion to aid MCI diagnosis. We present our preliminary results on MCI detection, using as dataset structure a simple combination of cognitive and functional measurements and the educational level of patients, gathered during clinical consultations. We have tackled an imbalanced classification problem developing a novel extended over-sampling method, SNEOM. As sensing element a bundle optical fiber was used. The sensor is based on changes of the reflected light intensity in bundle fiber which is placed near the vibrating element. As the vibrating element loudspeaker cone was used. The sensor was tested in the range of frequencies from 10 Hz to 1 kHz. The minimum detectable amplitude of vibration achieved is 1 μm. An application for real time vibration monitoring in LabVIEW software package was developed. One-sided concept lattices are based on the Galois connections within Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) framework, which allows to analyse object-attribute models with different structures for truth values of attributes. We present the approach for generation of one-sided concept lattices from restricted formal context, which is obtained from given one by omitting some subset of the set of all attributes. In this paper we introduce a novel on site spectral sensitivity measurement method.
