Em campo, foram realizadas coletas de amostras deformadas e indeformadas, com determinação da massa específica aparente in-situ pelo método frasco areia. laboratório, um programa completo de ensaios foi executado, sendo este composto por ensaios de caracterização e ensaios especiais (cisalhamento direto e adensamento edométrico). A camada argilosa foi classificada uma argila arenosa, de densidade relativa dos grãos igual a 2,52, com limite de liquidez de 31,6% e limite de plasticidade de 25,0%. Do ensaio de cisalhamento direto obteve-se uma faixa para a coesão, variando de 8,0 a 16,0 kPa, com ângulo de atrito em torno de 33°. Do ensaio de adensamento edométrico determinou-se um índice de compressibilidade ( 𝐶 𝑐 ) variando de 0,14 a 0,20, e um índice de recompressão ( 𝐶 𝑟 ) de 0,03 a 0,05. ABSTRACT: In this paper its present the geotechnical characteristics of a superficial clay layer present in the location called Parque Ecológico do Rio Cocó, in Fortaleza-CE. In field, a collect of disturbed and undisturbed samples was carried out, with determination of the apparent specific mass in-situ by the method of the sand-cone. In the laboratory, a complete testing program was executed, including characterization tests and special tests (direct shear and oedometric). The clay layer was classified as a sandy clay, with a specific gravity of 2.52, a liquidity limit of 31.6% and a plasticity limit of 25.0%. The direct shear test following a cohesion range from 8.0 a 16.0 kPa, with a friction angle around 33°. Além de mostrar ABSTRACT: The load capacity of driven piles frequently increases with time after pile installation and this phenomenon is known as aging or set-up. To quantify the gain in pile capacity, which depends on the soil type and pile geometry, dynamic loading tests can be performed at different time after the pile installation. Besides providing information on the variation of pile capacity with time, allowing the understanding of the foundation behavior under service loads, these tests can show the evolution of the load transfer along the pile length at different times after installation. The aim of this study is to present the set-up effect on the load capacity of a steel pipe pile installed in predominantly sandy soil. In this study, results of dynamic load tests with increasing energy are presented for a steel pipe pile at different time intervals after installation, 0 min, 105 min, 345 min, and 6000 min. The results show that after 100 h of pile installation, the shaft resistance has increased considerably. The set-up effect on the pile studied in sandy soils was pronounced in a few days after its installation. No artigo, apresenta-se o comportamento de uma cortina ancorada executada em solo residual de filito, que abrange uma porção considerável do subsolo da região. Foram realizadas análises da ruptura ocorrida na contenção, com base em resultados de investigações geotécnicas (sondagens, ensaios e instrumentação). Verificou-se variação significativa da resistência ao cisalhamento do solo, sendo influenciada por sua anisotropia. Estudos de retroanálise indicaram que a estabilidade da contenção foi afetada pela ação da água subterrânea, que sofreu modificações em seu regime. A monitoração da instrumentação permitiu avaliar os efeitos da execução ABSTRACT: In the Iron Quadrangle massifs, it is observed geological and geotechnical peculiarities, inherent to the soils and rocks types and groundwater, as well as anthropic resulting from mineral exploration. In this article, the behavior of an anchored wall executed on residual phyllite soil, which covers a considerable portion of the region, is presented. Analyzes of the rupture occurred in the geotechnical structure were carried out, based on geotechnical investigations results (surveys, tests and instrumentation). There was a significant variation in the shear strength of the soil, which was influenced by its anisotropy. Back analysis studies indicated that the stability of the geotechnical structure was affected by the groundwater action, which underwent changes in its regime. Therefore, in the case of shallow foundations, it may be necessary to realize the improvement of the soil on which it will be based to make the project technically feasible. In this sense, this work aims to present the variation of the bearing capacity of a square footing of 2.00 m on a side, based on different proportions of soil-cement, by the methods of Terzaghi (1943), Meyerhof (1955), Hansen (1970) and Vesic (1975), which are widely consolidated in the literature. For this purpose, static triaxial compression tests were performed on samples composed of improved sand with cement contents of 2%, 5% and 10%, in which their respective cohesion and angle of internal friction were determined. It was concluded that even for low levels of cement, the gain in load capacity is considerable, which may enable the execution of this type of foundation in places where the soil resistance is low, or, decrease the footing dimensions, depending on the case. This parameter is used in the Rodrigues et al. (2017) spreadsheet and influences in undrained resistance forecast, in Young module and value of the composite made after geo-hardening process. For this research, four sites which have used geo-hardening technique by grouting were analyzed and from soil parameters measures before and after technique was possible to get c value. The results got provided a conclusion that there is a big variability of this parameter in different soils including to the same soil in distinct depth. O objetivo deste trabalho é comparar as características e parâmetros de compactação de solo argiloso e cinzas de cavaco de eucalipto. Para isso, este trabalho buscou realizar ensaios de caracterizações física, ABSTRACT: The search for alternatives to the destination of Industrial Solid Waste (RSI) comes with the objective of reducing the volume of RSI sent to landfills. As an example, we can mention the use of ash originating from the burning of eucalyptus wood in the boilers of the paper production industries in mixtures with soil. Thus, the objective of this work isto compare the characteristics and parameters of compaction of clay soil and eucalyptus chip ash. For this, this work sought to perform tests of physical characterizations, compaction tests, in the intermediate energy in Proctor cylinder, and permeability tests in permeâmeter with variable load. The materials analyzed were clay soil, two ash samples and mixtures with 5% ash. The gray sample (AM1), of darker color, presented density between 2.2 and 2.5 and granulometry in the siltose sand strip. Regarding the compaction parameters in intermediate energy (EI), AM1 presented 𝑤 ó𝑡 / 𝜌 𝑑,𝑚á𝑥 of 73%/0.77 g/cm³. The gray sample (AM2), of lighter color, presented density in the [INSERT] range, siltoseand 𝑤 ó𝑡 /𝜌 𝑑,𝑚á𝑥 granulometry of 17.8 %/1.71 g/cm³. It is observed that the two gray samples present similar granulometry, but the density values and compaction parameters in THE were better for AM2. For the soil, previously studied by Oliveira Júnior (2014), density of 2.82 and sandy clay granulometry was found. For compaction parameters in THE, the soil presented 𝑤 ó𝑡 in 22% and 𝜌 𝑑,𝑚á𝑥 1.67 g/cm³. The Soil/AM1 and Soil/AM2 mixtures presented 𝑤 ó𝑡 / 𝜌 𝑑,𝑚á𝑥 of 21.8%/1.66 g/cm³ and 20%/1.76 g/cm³, respectively. A barragem de terra é uma das mais utilizadas no Brasil, devido a abundância de materiais disponíveis para sua construção. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho é identificar os principais tópicos relacionados à segurança das barragens de terra, no que diz respeito ao seu dimensionamento, ao controle de percolação e à estabilidade dos taludes. Para isso, utilizou-se a versão estudantil do software GeoStudio 2019 (pacotes Seep/W e Slope/W) para executar as análises, considerando a existência e a inexistência de elementos de controle de percolação no maciço e na fundação da barragem. A geometria adotada nas modelagens atendeu aos critérios de projeto geométrico ABSTRACT: Dams are structures that can be created for several purposes, such as generating electricity and leisure. The earth dam is one of the most used in Brazil, due to the abundance of materials available for its construction. Thus, the objective of this work is to identify the main topics related to the safety of earth dams, with regard to their dimensioning, percolation control and slope stability. For this, the student version of the GeoStudio 2019 software (Seep / W and Slope / W packages) was used to perform the analyzes, considering the existence and absence of percolation control elements in the massif and in the foundation of the dam.
