Since January 2007, the Act of 8 September 2006 on the National Medical Rescue Service has been a binding legal act. The aim of the Act is to introduce the functioning of the emergency medical system, both through a high level of health services based on the standards of Western countries and providing the required solutions in the area of emergency notification. The State Medical Rescue System was established to provide assistance to any person in need who is in a state of health emergency. The owner of the PRM system unit must ensure the readiness of people, resources and organizational units. The units of the PRM system providing services only in case of an emergency are: medical rescue teams, including airborne medical rescue teams and hospital emergency departments.","PeriodicalId":206045,"journal":{"name":"Postępy Nauk Medycznych","volume":"375 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124690396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, psychosocial factors, mental ex- haustion and stress have been considered by experts from WHO and the International Labor Organization as an important factor affecting the health of young people all over the world. The high level of psycho-emotional stress associated with information overload, the acceleration of life pace, unfavorable learning conditions, contributes to the increase in the prevalence of periodontal tissue diseases. Aim. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the efficiency of long-term usage of the nootropic drug “Noofen” in complex treatment of generalized periodontitis among 2nd year medical university students with increased level of emotional sensitivity. Material and methods. 70 students with initial-I stage generalized periodontitis and increased and high levels of emotional sensitivity were observed. Clinical indices PMA, BI, OHI-S and the level of MDA and SOD in saliva were detected. Results. All data of clinical indices (PMA, BI, OHI-S) and prooxidant-antioxidant system state (MDA and SOD) was improved after treatment in both groups (p < 0.001), despite that I group results in a long-term, where advanced treatment was performed, was much more better than in II group (p < 0.001). Conclusions. As a result of treatment we obtained significantly better results in group, where improved treatment was used. It is confirmed by long-term stabilization of clinical trials and biochemical parameters of oral fluid.","PeriodicalId":206045,"journal":{"name":"Postępy Nauk Medycznych","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134274281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Without properly functioning hearing organ, it would be impossible to develop speech, which is a mean of communication and social interaction. Therefore, it is important to observe the condition of particular senses, including hearing, and in case of disturbing symptoms or accidents causing damage, contact a specialist. This will enable early diagnosis and intervention. Sound is received by human organism through the conductive and receiving parts of the hearing organ. It is important to determine which part of hearing organ is impaired, since the procedure for receiving and conductive hearing loss is different. Precise diagnosis may determine the location of hearing damage. The basic element of diagnostics is case history. Further, a complex laryngological examination is conducted. The next step is the examination of the patient with appropriate subjective tests (Weber tests, distraction test, whispered voice test) and objective tests (OAE, tympanometry, brainstem auditory evoked potentials). These tests indicate the location and extent of hearing damage and also suggest the appropriate treatment for the individual patient. Acute otitis media is a condition that mainly affects children, but it also occurs in adults – more often men. It is usually caused by viral and bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract. Characteristic is the sudden onset of discomfort, exudation in the tympanic cavity, along with ear pain and inflammation. Acute otitis media may lead to complications such as facial nerve palsy, tympanosclerosis, labyrinthitis, mastoiditis, and brain abscess.","PeriodicalId":206045,"journal":{"name":"Postępy Nauk Medycznych","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127894090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Owners often refuse to evacuate if their animals cannot be transported with them. This is becoming a growing problem, given that many people own animals, e.g. 50% of Americans own pets. In Poland, in the case of incidents or disaster, the evacuation operation is managed by the first-arriving emergency services or provincial crisis management centres. The obligation concern exclusively humans, but no animals. In the case of disasters, the state veterinary services are not obliged to protect the animals on site unless they pose a threat to human health. These services focus on food safety, preventing transmission of infectious diseases and attending to sick animals. However, it seems that veterinary services should be more involved in the planning and implementation of the emergency evacuation process. Help from veterinarians can increase the efficiency of the evacuation process and the number of people and animals evacuated. In recent years, this issue has become increasingly important because societies are threatened not only by natural disasters, but also by international terrorism.","PeriodicalId":206045,"journal":{"name":"Postępy Nauk Medycznych","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115504250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective was achieved by the fact that the bite plate of the device was made in the form of U-shaped supporting ruler with a fork-like extension on both sides and with a pocket in the central part. The bite plates for the frontal and chewing parts of the upper jaw check-bite were inserted into the pocket. The bite plates were made removable, the frontal plate was T-shaped, and the chewing one was fork-like with rounded forks. The device was additionally equipped with a movable ruler to record strict parallel alignment in relation to the Camper and inter-pupillary lines. The supporting ruler was equipped with two vertical columns of square shape with symmetric millimeter scales, along which the vertical movements of the movable ruler were conducted and its parallel alignment was recorded in relation to the supporting ruler. The movable ruler was additionally equipped with a leveling device fixed in its central part to position the patient’s head relative to the horizon line. The use of bite plates for the frontal and chewing parts of the upper jaw check-bite and the provision of structural elements in the form of the supporting and movable rulers with the possibility of moving the movable ruler on the vertical columns of the supporting ruler provide a fast, comfortable, precise and uniform formation of the prosthetic plane of the upper jaw check-bite parallel to the Camper and inter-pupillary lines in the prosthodontic treatment of the patients with completely absent dentition.","PeriodicalId":206045,"journal":{"name":"Postępy Nauk Medycznych","volume":"276 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130421117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
